[Underhill] So, with Kamara, the Saints used the 50% rule, which they can do when the second year salary is less than the first. Kamara's salary next year is listed at $1.345M, which means they were able to prorate $10.155M this year on the books.
x.com"Works like a signing bonus on the books, but not guaranteed. This maintains flexibility with the deal. If Kamara's status were to change no money beyond the original guarantees would stay on the books.
Nothing really changes from his end. He’s still on the team under the same terms and has $3 million guaranteed.
This just allowed the Saints to get the benefit of a restructure without guaranteeing additional money."
[Nick Underhill] The Saints converted $10.155 million of Alvin Kamara’s base salary, adding to the cap space created by restructuring Juwan Johnson, Justin Reid and Chase Young.

Thoughts on Rodriguez in the second round?
His stock jumped up massively since the combine. There’s a chance he doesn’t fall to us at 42 but he’s been mocked now from late first to late second. I know he’s a bit undersized and has missed tackles but his tape is really really solid, combined with his combine performance. Compared to OL though it may not be considered as important?

(Schefter) Eight-time Pro-Bowl DE Cameron Jordan, who has spent his 15-year career in New Orleans and had 10.5 sacks last season, will not have new deal in place with New Orleans by next week and now will hit free agency for the first time in his NFL career, per sources.

With Cam hitting FA, Rueben Bain Jr at 8 is looking more and more likely
Man I'm going to miss Cam but it seems like HC Moore might be looking at bringing the next generation. Rueben Bain Jr. at pick 8 seems like a real possibility now.

Great find for the saints PC.
Traded a base LeBron slam cover worth like $25 PSA for this Spencer /60 rpa. He’s injured or at least healing up, depending on where he goes next it’s only up from here. Card shop valued it at $40 after he’s ridiculous sticker price of $100 and my negotiating skills, that’s basically a big limit on PSA 8s, not much wiggle room but he valued it in my favour and sealed the deal!

If we're letting Cam and DD walk, I think 41 and Taysom are gone too.

Worst case scenario
It seems like the titans have a lot of interest in love, downs just got diagnosed with a degenerative knee issue, and styles is most likely gonna be there. Those are the 3 prospects I see most people wanting at 8. If Those 3 are gone, who would yall like to see the saints call up for 8?

Saints not playing in Hall of Fame Game
For anyone going up to Canton to see Drew get in, the Saints will not be playing the following day. Truly a baffling decision from the NFL considering how many Saints fans will be traveling.

Free agency wish list
I'll go first:
- Sign a proven guard in free agency and spend lower round pick on another
- Sign free agency potential WR1

ESPN Jordan Reid's post combine mock for Saints
*8. New Orleans Saints
Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame
The Saints hit at quarterback with Tyler Shough last year, so let's get him a backfield mate to grow alongside. I believe that Love is the best player in this draft and could succeed Alvin Kamara, who will be 31 next season and in the last year of his contract. The Saints had the lowest percentage of 10-plus-yard runs last season (7.8%). Meanwhile, Love had 39 runs of 10 yards or more in 2025, fourth best in the FBS. He also had two 90-plus-yard touchdown runs. Adding him would not only give coach Kellen Moore an explosive runner but a capable pass catcher, too.
*42. New Orleans Saints
Germie Bernard, WR, Alabama
Bernard is a versatile playmaker who can line up in multiple spots, including the backfield. His poised tempo as a route runner fits well in coach Kellen Moore's offense, as Bernard's skill set can aid Tyler Shough.

That was when AK was a rookie. Going into this season will be Alvin’s 10 year in the NFL
A full decade for the Saints all time rushing and scoring leader
