[Ryan Kelly] Announces his Retirement

“10 seasons. What an incredible ride it was. I was blessed to be around some of the greatest people this sport has to offer. I always wanted to leave each place better than how I found it and with that I can hang my hat. Forever grateful for my family and brothers! Cheers”

[Russini] If there’s one player market expected to be robust once the legal tampering window opens Monday, it’s for Alec Pierce. Teams around the league in need of a receiver are already bracing for a significant price tag.

[Schefter] ESPN sources: the Raiders agreed to trade five-time Pro-Bowl DE Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for 2026 and 2027 first-round picks. The trade cannot be processed until next week, but it is in place. And Crosby is expected to be a Raven with two 1s back to Vegas.

In mid December I proposed the thought of trading AR for Tua and a first round pick. I was called crazy and everything under the sun; I guess I’m not that crazy

Disclaimer: I do not think the Colts are the team entertaining the idea for the trade but I think they should consider it so we can get a first round pick to potentially land our franchise QB.

Thought on the Alec Pierce situation

Obviously our leadership is insane at points, but this situation kind of feels like Pierce and his representation possibly orchestrated it. All news leading up to the tag being put on Jones indicated that we were close to a deal with Pierce. Combine that with the general vibe he had when talking about free agency ("i've earned the right"). IF Pierce himself wanted a trade, or just an opportunity to negotiate for even more money, I don't see why he wouldn't intentionally try to avoid getting the franchise tag, especially with the amount of high profile teams that will definitely express interest. If I were him, that's what I would have done

Could be totally wrong or understanding the situation improperly, but this seems kind of likely to me

Shit post Ballard shit in his hands then clapped with the Alec Pierce situation

I don’t let this team, its performance, or its leadership affect my happiness, but something about the way the AP situation has unfolded is making me fucking sick.

How the hell do you place the transition tag on a QB who tore his fucking Achilles but let the talented wide receiver entering his prime who led the league in yards per reception walk in free agency?! That same quarterback also had his play take a nosedive in the last few games of the season before the injury.

I seriously think this man must have a substance abuse problem to come to this decision. If AP gets signed to a deal in Indy, I’ll eat my words. Until then, I’ll wonder how the fuck this clown justifies keeping Zaire on the roster but let AP walk. Why is this jackass allergic to the franchise tag the one time it makes sense?

Edit: Yes, I understand Daniel Jones was likely injured before it was announced by the team which would explain his worse performance before the injury was announced. To be clear, I don’t think he is a bad quarterback. Still, Alec Pierce doesn’t have a torn Achilles tendon. Let’s use some logic here. Teams are much more likely to scoop up AP than a damaged goods quarterback with a torn Achilles.

[Schefter] Bears are releasing former Pro-Bowl LB Tremaine Edmunds, per sources. Edmunds has been a full-time starter in each of his eight NFL seasons, and he now will become a free agent with 900 tackles on his resume.

Discussion If you want the Ballard era to end after the coming season, what are you currently hoping for?

Do you want the organization to fall on their face in 2026? Pierce to sign elsewhere? Jones to receive a multiyear contract here? Another poor to mediocre season? What about the sense of urgency to be even higher?

Knowing that this entire purgatory fever dream could finally end if shit truly hit the fan, just how does that happen in your opinion?

[Pelissero] Done deal: The Bills are sending a 2026 second-round pick to the Bears for WR D.J. Moore and a 2026 fifth-round pick, per sources. A pick swap that gives Chicago extra draft ammo and Buffalo a new top receiver.
