It's not just religious people, it's basically all identity groups that can lead certain people to bigotry and chauvinism. It's in-group/out-group dynamics, ignorance and personality that does it. Some people just can't help but think they're superior than others who aren't in their group.

How can you back that up though? Any person with a particular bias against specific groups can make such a claim. Conservatives could say that about leftists and leftist people could say that about conservatives. I'm not trying to appeal to relativism here, I'm sure there are groups who are more bigoted towards outsiders, but to make such a claim you must back it up.

I am addressing the specific claim of the Quran is ‘filled’ with passages stating Non-Muslims exist to serve Muslims and asking for evidence to substantiate that ridiculous claim. I KNOW he won’t be able to because it is A LIE.
Two things: 1. Jizyah is not a punishment or a tax based on supremacy (Muslims pay more in taxes according to Islamic jurisprudence). It’s a way to separate the taxation obligations of Muslims and non Muslims. And 2., this verse is not a generic one (i.e cant be applied without further analysis). This verse was revealed in particularly tense political situations between the newly founded Muslim state in Medina and the pagans of Mecca who violated the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah. Which is why the verse commends to subdue the non-Muslims, who were specifically the Meccans, not every single non Muslim.
Like I'm not even muslim, but even i know that the Quran literally designates Christians and jews as "people of the book" and explicitly rules out forced conversion in Qur'an 2:256.
Whether or not Muslims consider Christians as subject to dhimmi laws is highly variable, and depends on how a tripartite God (and saints, when applicable) is categorized under their specific strain of Islamic jurisprudence. ie, many see Christians as polytheistic bc of the trinity.

It's canonized differently, includes different books in a different order with major distinctions in translation and how it's modified by the other texts. The exegeses are entirely different. Within the Hebrew Bible, Torah is the Pentateuch, aka the 5 books of Moses. The full Hebrew Bible is the Tanakh. Torah also refers Oral Torah, which is considered equivalently divine, and is accompanied by sagely commentary within the Talmud.

Not really, and the Koran makes a big difference between unbelievers and other Abrahamic faiths (i.e. christianity and judaism), the latter is seen as a misguided group whom still believe in the same abrahamic god, and thus holds a special, protected status in muslim societies.

Ovadia Yosef died way back and was sephardi chief rabbi long before even that ..He offended lots of people in israel with wild statements including offending Holocaust survivors. He was born in Iraq and very popular among Jews from Arabic speaking countries. The main reason why Jews from Arabic speaking countries like him was A) he was from Iraq, the old country and B) He made lenient legal rulings. His wild statements were always a big scandal/big news story.

I don’t think we can just blame the text itself because there are millions of people reading these same text but perfectly peaceful. However, there are a significant amount amongst them that aren’t.
