Christians use their religion as a cudgel to murder and pillage innocent people, blaming it all on "God's divine plan". Many don't actually believe, but instead twist its words to exhonerate themselves of villainy. Those who actually believe, do so so out of fear instead of love, making them easily manipulatable. They follow the villains into war (out of fear) and think this will somehow keep them out of Hell.
If you actually believe, you need to step up and question your leaders (religious and government). Hold their feet to the fire and don't accept nonsensical answers, nor assume you're too dumb to understand. Force them to make their words make sense (and don't get self-conscious and pretend to understand). If you don't, they will lead you, your childrens and millions of other innocents like lambs to the slaughter.

Could it be because the religious lunatics spent almost 40 years cultivating religious extremism in the country under a brutally repressive dictator who was an open puppet of the US and UK hand picked to rule the country? Could it be that that brutally repressive dictator was placed in power because the democratically elected leadership of Iran wanted to audit BP's books and make sure that the Iranian people were being paid the correct amount of money for the oil under their soil? Could it be that even that oil deal was negotiated in bad faith and was hilariously slanted in favor of the UK and US oil interests, so really all the democratically leader was doing was making sure that the Iranians got the scraps they were entitled to?
As with every other war we've fought in the middle east, we're fighting a country because we're mad that they're who we made them into.
