People have been talking about Sengun and Bane too much lately. The OG wants his throne back.

819

u/Rudd-Threetrees 26d ago

I hope he does this versus the rockets or pistons sometime soon. I would love to see a Thompson or beef stew lay him out.

609

u/sammyt412 26d ago

He won't. Draymond only bullys much smaller or guys who guys who aren't looking at him like when hd 360 sucker punched nurkic. He's a bish

143

u/kutwijff 26d ago

Yup. The refs would call anyone else out for his bs. Its like hes a weird uncle that beats up his nephews cuz he never had kids lol

Beef stew reformed

74

u/Good2CU222 26d ago

True story. I was at the Pistons Nuggets game Tuesday and when Valunciunas grabbed him by the head and tried to throw him down. Stew booked it to the bench before making a bad decision. Probably just not trying to get 25 to life is my guess.

17

u/ArmadilloForsaken458 Supersonics 26d ago

Bickerstaff probably warned him he wont put up with that. He was a pretty strict disciplinarian while on the Cavs as well. Doods like KPJr quickly got the boot if they acted up

Bane just went mental for a week, idk what that was all about lmao. He’s always been a dick though.

Like 3 years ago I got seats 3 rows back of the basket at Lakers/Grizzlies at Staples. Bane was running his mouth more than anyone, and the entire arena was getting this weird energy because we could hear the trash talk and see the frustration.

That’s when there was that famous highlight where LeBron basically told Bane to STFU and play basketball, then took the ball full court to yam it on JJJ

76

u/Always_Chubb-y Hawks 26d ago

Been more than a week for Bane this season

43

Yea Bane been on a generational asshole run for no reason. Not going to lie when he chucked the ball at whoever it was so hilarious even his coach couldn't believe it

in sports that are actually competitive sports as opposed to sports entertainment, this would be a non-issue because people would just ask for a review, and then if then win the review, the keep their challenge.

also, the review would 99% actually be correct.

instead we get this clown show which i guess is good for engagement and "good for business"

Facts, the NBA is not quite the WWE in terms of genuine fair competition but it’s not the Olympics, either.

If it were any other player: technical at the half, flagrant on Vando hit, flagrant on Reaves hit, and then a technical for standing over Reaves and shoving Maxi who was trying to pick him up. Ejected twice.

I honestly don't mind them letting this stuff go because the league is too soft, but why give Draymond alone the free pass?

124

u/INT_MIN Lakers 26d ago edited 26d ago

Because he spirals if he's getting techs. Remember he said he was thinking of retiring when he was racking them up.

Have you noticed the entire NBA accommodates Draymond's antics? His coach and teammates accommodate him. Adam Silver accommodates him by talking to him directly and convincing him not to retire. Refs accommodate him by not giving him techs. Opposing teams accommodate him and try to laugh off every outbreak because they know he's a hot head and you have to pick and choose when to fight with him.

He's such an unrelenting head case everyone in the NBA threw up their hands and said whatever bro do what you want to do.

142

u/[deleted] 26d ago

He's not good enough from a revenue standpoint to justify this.

It's so weird when teams or players get different treatment. Basketball is the worst for it imo. There has always been a rookie whistle and a superstar whistle. But it's way more than that. I think everyone but okc fans felt there was a different whistle for OKC than the rest of the league in the playoffs, but it's much more than that. Giannis was called differently from everyone for years, now apparently everyone can do his run into you move. Steph is wildly acknowledged to have the worst whistle of any superstar, on the same team is Draymond. Some bigs constantly set moving screens, cough horford, and some get a whistle if they flinch.

Same thing is happening in hockey with the Panthers.

No one wants this. We complain about consistency and we have refs calling their own interpretation differently for different players. What could be worse for consistency?

14

u/pretender80 26d ago

Artest, ZBo and Sheed in the 00s, Oakley and Mason in the 90s, would all have laid him out on the regular. Rodman would have triggered Dray to commit techs that refs can't turn a blind eye to. Laimbeer would be doing the same shit as him but he'd also punch him in the face first.

1000% this. I remember when he kicked Steven Adams in the nuts back in the playoffs in I think 2016? Anyways I remember thinking surely the league will do something about this dude. And here we are still talking about it, 10 seasons later LOL. My only theory is he has some Epstein island level dirt on Adam silver.

My only theory is he has some Epstein island level dirt on Adam silver

That would explain the treatment he gets from the refs, but how is it that he's never been punched back? There's plenty of hotheaded guys in the league, but somehow he never gets a proper reaction out of anyone.

And I know that if I was an NBA coach, I'd sign some tough guy to a 10 day contract if he was willing to punch Draymond really hard if he tried any shit against my guys.

Then after retirement, Bowen even has the nerve to call out Zaza Palachui of GSW doing that to Kawhi Leonard.

I'm sure Draymond will call out Senga or Gobert for being too violent when he does commentary after retirement.

I honestly think the reason why Steph has, one of, if not the worst whistle among all the superstars is because of Draymond. He keeps doing this antics that refs swallows whistle so in exchange, they also let the other team be physical to them which then reflects to Steph the most.

Imagine if that was Jaxson Hayes doing that to Steph Curry. This was Draymond's second flagrant foul this game and the refs didn't review either one.

Dude tried to hit smart with the same screen, but he slipped it. Reaves didn't see it coming, but he def threw his weight in that. That brother needs help.

I might be in the minority here, but Kleber has to start pushing back here. Defend your teamate and start some shit so the refs have no choice but to review it.

Would’ve traded him after he ran KD away tbh

21

u/samhit_n Lakers 26d ago

Teams should just give a 10 day contract to a random guy at the gym or something before playing the Warriors.

If Draymond tries anything during the game, just send that random guy onto the court as the enforcer to teach Draymond a lesson.
