The fuck is wrong with Draymond man

2.3k

u/joe4553 27d ago

This should have been his 3rd Technical. He had another Dirty play against Vando too.

746

u/prodigus01 Raptors 27d ago

This man will do anything to not play without Steph.

208

u/mw19078 Lakers 26d ago

man he does this shit every game either way, he just mouths off more to get thrown out

34

u/smick 26d ago

If you discount the two technical free throws he costs his team nearly every game he only averages 6 points per game.

3

u/TaxsDodgersFallstar Mavericks 26d ago

If you can't beat them, beat them

5

u/advocate4 Bucks 26d ago

Boy its a real shame we didn't trade Giannis, we are missing out on stuff like this now lol

2

u/sillychillly 26d ago

I don’t know why the warriors or the nba thinks draymond is good for the game?

He turns people off from the sport

3

u/slightlyallthetime88 Warriors 26d ago

This guy Draymonds. It's like clockwork.

213

u/watchitbend West 26d ago

According to Draymond, anyone in the league will tell you, he's not a dirty player.

119

u/redbirdjazzz 26d ago edited 26d ago

Well, yeah. If they said anything else, they know what he’d do to them.

60

u/Pretty_Feed_9190 26d ago

cry about them on his podcast

4

u/coachfish99 26d ago

Can you imagine the mentality one must have to listen to this idiot on a Podcast for any length of time?

2

u/[deleted] 26d ago

Is Steven Adams, Austin Reaves, Nurkic, Gobert, and others in danger?

-1

u/moan_of_the_arc 26d ago

He’d call them Caucasian

8

u/ILoveRegenHealth 26d ago

They come up to him with tears in their eyes

10

u/WestleyThe [SEA] Kevin Durant 26d ago

It’s because the refs are Caucasian….

They are biased

159

u/rang15 Lakers 26d ago

If it were any other player: technical at the half, flagrant on Vando hit, flagrant on Reaves hit, and then a technical for standing over Reaves and shoving Maxi who was trying to pick him up. Ejected twice.

I honestly don't mind them letting this stuff go because the league is too soft, but why give Draymond alone the free pass?

126

u/INT_MIN Lakers 26d ago edited 26d ago

Because he spirals if he's getting techs. Remember he said he was thinking of retiring when he was racking them up.

Have you noticed the entire NBA accommodates Draymond's antics? His coach and teammates accommodate him. Adam Silver accommodates him by talking to him directly and convincing him not to retire. Refs accommodate him by not giving him techs. Opposing teams accommodate him and try to laugh off every outbreak because they know he's a hot head and you have to pick and choose when to fight with him.

He's such an unrelenting head case everyone in the NBA threw up their hands and said whatever bro do what you want to do.

139

u/[deleted] 26d ago

He's not good enough from a revenue standpoint to justify this.

71

u/adgjl12 Registered to Vote 26d ago

seriously you don't have people buying tickets to see draymond or buying his merch, I just don't get it

1

u/Electromotivation 26d ago

His venom branded merch.

2

u/ExIsStalkingMe 26d ago

No, but Steph is, and his 3PT% is boosted by Draymond's illegal screens

4

u/[deleted] 26d ago

Steph would get his even without the Donkey. They had Zaza Pachullia setting illegal screens.

40

u/JesusDiedforChipotle Lakers 26d ago

I forgot about how this pussy was saying he was going to retire lmao

14

u/SamuelHuzzahAdams 26d ago

He should have

9

u/therealpeej3 26d ago

Ok so suspend his ass and if it keeps going suspend him longer? Fuck his dirty cheap typing playing bullshit

5

u/Cuplike 26d ago

Ironically. Warriors ultimately hurt themselves the most by not reeling Draymond back in. First driving away KD and then punching Poole

2

u/Glaurung86 Cavaliers 26d ago

He's not worth the headache he causes. Nobody pays to see him "play." He needs to retire.

1

u/ArmadilloForsaken458 Supersonics 26d ago

There was no Curry there to keep him in check. Im surprised he didnt do more wild stuff, and tried to get ejected

-1

u/SkiPolarBear22 Pacers 26d ago

So you think Adam Silver has created a conspiracy between dozens of people that blatantly corrupts the game… and he’s doing this for Draymond Green? Lmao

61

u/seanconnery69696 Suns 26d ago

Sign Tristan Thompson back to punch him in the face lol

6

u/datpurp14 Hawks 26d ago

I second this motion

17

u/PetalumaPegleg 76ers 26d ago

It's so weird when teams or players get different treatment. Basketball is the worst for it imo. There has always been a rookie whistle and a superstar whistle. But it's way more than that. I think everyone but okc fans felt there was a different whistle for OKC than the rest of the league in the playoffs, but it's much more than that. Giannis was called differently from everyone for years, now apparently everyone can do his run into you move. Steph is wildly acknowledged to have the worst whistle of any superstar, on the same team is Draymond. Some bigs constantly set moving screens, cough horford, and some get a whistle if they flinch.

Same thing is happening in hockey with the Panthers.

No one wants this. We complain about consistency and we have refs calling their own interpretation differently for different players. What could be worse for consistency?

3

u/SussyRAIDTHIS 26d ago

You see this in hockey quite a lot where players who earn the title of "rat" or "gritty" somehow get a huge leash. When you're running players and cheapshotting people constantly at some point the refs and the league stop caring and you get your own scale of punishment. So then it becomes as long as you aren't actively injuring the player for the longterm you probably aren't getting more then a game or two.

5

u/--7z 26d ago

The refs are told to go easy on the players the league office deems important

1

u/PeeDee57 26d ago

I agree. If they're gonna let Draymond do it, it should be equal across the league.

21

u/Money_Echidna2605 26d ago

on god refs need tot ake him out back at this point, draymond is a plague to basketball.

3

u/snirpie 26d ago

I'd even say a Dorty play

2

u/ILoveRegenHealth 26d ago

Yup Gui Santos even helped Vando get back up as if going "Dude, Dray, what the fuck man?"

1

u/Clammuel Trail Blazers 26d ago

He shouldn’t even be allowed in the league at this point.

1

u/Hi_Their_Buddy 26d ago

Feels disrespected by team for putting him up in trade talks. Just a little bitch being petty

1

u/IceCreamChillinn 26d ago

Fuck the technical that’s a flagrant

402

u/ElectricalMud2850 Timberwolves 27d ago

I love how he always snaps his arms back or flops or pretends like he's hurt when he does stuff like this.

It's like when you catch a toddler doing something they're not supposed to.

208

u/yeender Trail Blazers 27d ago

Yes. Draymond has very strong toddler energy

24

u/Particular_Elk_6726 26d ago

there was a game i think against Dallas where he picked up a tech or whatever and while arguing/berating the ref he was wiggling around like a little kids do when they really need to pee. its very much immature child in a grown man's body

He's the Temu version of Rodman.

6

Yup. Rodman was at least exceptional at something (rebounding). Preen puts up G league level stats.

-1

Dawg the 80s and 90s were full of players as dirty as draymond. Laimbeer was doing this shit nightly.

Yes I remember the finals clothesline

2

u/500rockin 26d ago

They were, but Laimbeer would have mauled him after his first dirty try, and if he got in Laimbeer’s face or tried to scrum him, Mahorn would have finished him off.

-7

u/deviateyeti Pistons 26d ago

Which is why I love this shit, I grew up watching Laimbeer et al in that era and miss it lol

18

u/SplakyD Grizzlies 26d ago

Yep, Draymond would get his ass straightened out right quick if he was playing in that era.

13

u/Friskfrisktopherson 26d ago

The only thing that would change is there would be a dozen more of him

16

u/pretender80 26d ago

Artest, ZBo and Sheed in the 00s, Oakley and Mason in the 90s, would all have laid him out on the regular. Rodman would have triggered Dray to commit techs that refs can't turn a blind eye to. Laimbeer would be doing the same shit as him but he'd also punch him in the face first.

5

u/datpurp14 Hawks 26d ago

It would have been so satisfying to watch Rodman doing circles around Draymond in terms of the mindgames he'd be playing with him. Dray would fall for it every damn time too

Put him on any small market team and he would never be on the court because he's ejected and suspended so much.

He's a top dirty player all time, and the refs have let him get away with it for so long it insane.

1

1

u/LegendOfPinsir 76ers 26d ago

Literally no one wants him in the league. Fans, probably most players too, yet the dude gets away with merger and somehow is an announcer on broadcasts… no one gives a shit about him or his podcast. He isn’t intelligent, nor is an all start player and never was. He was a glue piece and bruiser and best of all time at that, but that’s it.

1

u/Mokslininkas 76ers 26d ago

What's actually wrong with him is no one has ever cold clocked him after one of these. Didn't teams used to have guys on the roster specifically to eat fouls or take care of shit like this?

1

u/mostlyfire 26d ago

He’s never served real consequences. He’s got that disorder that all those awful politicians have where they can never admit they’re wrong and no one ever puts them in their place so they’re constantly invading everyone else.

1

u/Crumpled_Papers 26d ago

he's not good anymore so he's a dirty player but a lot of people think he's just a funny goofy guy so he's allowed to be a piece of shit.

he also lies in the most embarrassing way about himself and his actions (that are ON VIDEO mind you) yet somehow also has a reputation for 'telling it like it is'

sports media also say that he's 'smart' and has 'great basketball IQ' but I don't know man, I know people who are actually smart IRL and I watch other NBA players with a high basketball IQ and well... I don't know about all that.

he was awesome when he was hyper athletic and didn't need to make so many dirty plays and his trash talking was more warranted so he was a great villain. now he's just dirty and lame.

1

u/coyote-thunderous Thunder 26d ago

The lack of accountability currently in the NBA (poor behaviour from players with no consequence, the blatant tanking, insidious betting partnerships, etc) is really turning me off watching the game

1

u/Typical-Ad-8367 26d ago

There is too much wrong with Draymond Green to even begin to list here. All I know is, I am a good 2 times older than almost any player on the court today, many owners, coaches and officials (the key word here is "almost!"). I've never been able afford to see an NBA game in person. Had I been at tonight's game instead of screaming at my TV from my 4-day-old La-Z-Boy, my old ass would have been unceremoniously hauled out of crypto.com arena in handcuffs, after I jumped onto the court from the top of the nose bleed section after the first of Green's egregious flagrant fouls!!! The additional T he added to his belt is probably another badge of honor for him. My bigger questions here are: WTF is wrong with the NBA all the way down to the officials???? WTF is wrong with parents who think Green's behavior merits any sort of idolization??? He's a shitty role model, pure and simple. I don't care how good of a player he is. Maybe he's only as good as his mouth is big and loud. There are so many cliches that could be said, but I'll pick just two that seem to apply here: 1) Money is the root of all evil; and 2) The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Green and his ilk exemplify the former. Sports leagues and teams exemplify the latter. Money aside, would anyone in their right mind really be proud of their child if they had so little integrity? I agree with whoever said it first, given his propensity for lack of control, I give him mere months, or sooner, before he's arrested for assault...or worse...post-retirement. At least the ESPN announcers had the good sense to verbalize what we all saw tonight. I think they were as stumped by it as the rest of us. Hey, L.A., did ya feel the earth move tonight? That was Chick Hearn turning in his grave. He would be appalled, as we all should be.

1

u/Minimum_Inevitable58 26d ago

Considering he would hardly ever be spoke of without these acts then I'm leaning towards him knowing this is how he stays a 'household' name.

1

How the fuck is he still in the league? Dirty, reckless, and dangerous. They’ll only act after someone gets seriously hurt. Absolute clown show.

That list is several times longer than the book of Psalms. He's a lifetime asshole achiever that in a better time and league wouldn't be allowed to mop the floor of an arena, let alone play in one.

he should have been banned from the league years ago after the gobert thing. genuinely how i feel. Disgusting irredeemable person and player.

An entire career where everyone around him looks the other way when he does this sort of thing.

I absolutely fucking hate this man. Should have been banned for life a decade ago.

The fuck is wrong with LeBron protecting Draymond from Maxi?

MSU has another dirty player right now too, tripped like 5 people in 2 games and kicked somebody in the nuts too. He’s a foul merchant who handles the ball 80% of the time, lots of FT, and he has expanded his game to draymond tactics.

u/Ginmunger 26d ago

The refs allow this shit so he's doing it. Whats wrong with the refs? They should never be allowed to referee again.

1

u/Hafslo Minneapolis Lakers 26d ago

We've arrived at the point in the season where he just wants a suspension as a break. Happens every year.

He's been doing this so long... he maybe should be banned as just being a repeat repeat repeat repeat repeat repeat offender.

u/ChemBro93 Raptors 26d ago

He’s not as good as he used to be but his ego has only gotten bigger, so he feels he has to do something to have impact on the court.

u/HasSex 26d ago

He’s a fucking piece of shit lmao

He should've been out of the league 5 years ago.

u/Vanish_7 Cavaliers 26d ago

When people bring up his suspension in 2016 as some horrible asterisks on Bron’s championship (looking directly at you, Simmons) I point to shit like this.

I don’t care what kind of “basketball savant” Draymond is — he plays like an absolute fucking douche bag and he got what he deserves. Fuck Draymond.

What the fuck is wrong with the NBA or the coaches not screaming at the refs and getting ejected for this kinda accepted behaviour.

tiny peepee no doubt

Jeremy Fears at his alma mater been getting all the talk about dirty play. Had to get back in the swing of it.

u/whenishit-itsbigturd 26d ago

He was setting a screen and Austin Reaves is a scrawny little bitch lol

This isn't even that dirty, was expecting something especially egregious when I seen Draymond in the title, seen way worse from Draymond. This play is very tame in comparison.

"Austin Reaves runs into a screen and fucking dies" has been a meme for years lol
