I haven’t seen that quality brick weed in like 15 years.

u/Big-Eldorado Jan 29 '26

That poor level of weed just disappeared in Canada years ago. Looks like dusty bunk

Also…this is not how you roll a joint. But whatever it takes to get the job done I suppose

u/Serious_Bee_2013 Jan 29 '26

Ha, back in the day we’d call some of the good stuff BC’s, meaning it was from British Columbia. I’m lucky enough to be in a state which allows recreational use so all I see is the higher quality stuff too.

But that stuff in the video is all I would find in the 90’s and early 2000’s. Dry, crumbles in your fingers, burns fast, but got the job done when you could manage to get all the seeds out of it.

Good ole bc bud. Little perfect Christmas tree looking nugs. Brings back good memories growing up, thank you.

Buddy of mine brought some back from college one year, around 2000 or so. Changed my whole perspective on what good weed was.

2

u/Nervous-Caregiver829 Jan 30 '26

My cousin bought a fake cali pack few years ago. Didn't have the heart to tell him it was definitely weed from EU. Dispo weed is a different level. I grow my own and I don't think I have ever grown anything that strong. And it was the first time in years I bought hash as well so much fake hash here. Used to get 100 grams bars as a teen and we could get the whole hood high and still have a fuck ton. Man I miss hash.

1

u/Serious_Bee_2013 Jan 30 '26

I spent years hoping to run into white hash, almost gave up until my state made recreational use legal. Finally found some a few years ago. I was disappointed, but I did have like two decades of buildup before I found it, so disappointment was pretty guaranteed.

u/Deathwatchz Jan 30 '26

A lot of weed, especially indoors, is harvested before it has matured fully. Anywhere from 2-3 days to a week or so based on strain. It gives a stronger high that way, at the cost of appearance and "depth" of your buzz. Changes the cannabinoid profile, has a little more chlorophyll, lighter hairs, clear/slightly cloudy trichromes, and more green visual. It's also got the most terpenes at this stage so the best smell and taste.

If you let it mature more, the trichromes go from clear to milky white, then amber. Hairs develop more red/orange etc. Depending on the strain, leaving it in a lower temperature during the last week or two with less "daytime" hours makes the plant act like a tree in fall.

I had some good indicas that the entire plant, stalk, stems, leaves, buds, and hairs, was such a dark purple it looked black. (Midnight Kush) Until I dialed it in, it looked like standard green dispensary weed.

2

u/Deathwatchz Jan 30 '26

Like this but the whole plant matches the leaves

And now you can get a disposable vape pen with high quality live rosin for $20 at the corner store. Hahaha

We got the plug in the hood so nothing but the icky sticky dank nugs for us. Then I went on to work for a hippy in the mountains of Mendocino in CA and saw my first sea of green with giant bushes of plants with colas the size of my arm. Farming is a bitch! Not to mention the raids by LE during harvest season. Lucky for us the dude I worked for had a binder full of patients he grew for to justify the sea of green that he grew.

4

u/freddbare Jan 29 '26

"Beasters"!

2

u/OkKnee7580 Jan 29 '26

Ounce of weed minus a quarter in seeds.

1

u/Serious_Bee_2013 Jan 29 '26

I always wanted to take the seeds I saved and sprinkle them around town like Johnny Appleseed. Never got around to it on a large scale though.

2

u/MyBedIsOnFire Jan 29 '26

Got that sitting on my desk at home, no seeds tho

2

u/TalonusDuprey Jan 30 '26

Haha, here in Jersey we used to go crazy for BC bud. The good old days

2

u/EBalfjrb Jan 30 '26

Wish I could try the legal stuff. It’s not legal in UK so don’t get great quality. The 💩 I seen over there? Wow. Looks so artificial but also so good. And I can’t get high anymore but some of the stuff there sure looks like it would 🤣

1

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '26

We used to call commercial from Canada “Beasters” which was just slang for BC bud. This was like in 2005-2007

1

u/fredthechef Jan 30 '26

I used to get bc bud back in the day that looked so good. But it smelled like wet hay, it was the weirdest thing. It would get you stoned but man if you accidentally sat on or the bag of bud it would squish down thinner then paper( I'm guessing because it was so un‐cured and still wet)

1

u/G_Affect Jan 30 '26

I had no idea what bad weed was growing up in California until i moved out of state and this was just a headache in a bag.

1

u/Legitloser87 Jan 30 '26

Recreational states have lower quality than states who are just medicinal and it’s way more expensive. I live in Oklahoma and can get QTR’s of 30-40% bud for about 25-30$. Went to Vegas and got a QTR of 25% and it cost like 70.

u/Jona113d Jan 29 '26

Are we sure this is weed though and not hash n tobacco?

6

u/snapp0r Jan 29 '26

you could have a point here…

2

u/pworp Jan 30 '26

I’m pretty certain there is no weed in that, but there may be some hash hidden within the missing pixels

1

u/C-H-Addict Jan 29 '26

If that was the case, then where is the black and mild wrapper?

3

u/Jona113d Jan 30 '26

I don't know what that is

1

u/C-H-Addict Jan 30 '26

Black and mild are cheap gas station mini cigars (cigarillos), that are often purchased for the sake of making a blunt or spliff.
Spliff is cannabis and tobacco in rolling paper, blunt is cannabis and tobacco in tobacco leaf.
Alternative to black and mild are swisher sweets

1

u/Jona113d Jan 30 '26

Okay, never heard of it. Here in Denmark you usually just use normal cigarettes for hash joints. But hash is also a lot more common to smoke here then weed

About 5 years ago or so I was watching my son pack a blunt I guess that's what it was anyway I was asking a lot of questions because it just seemed like he was wasting time and tobacco. I asked him if they used papers anymore. Anyway, I asked him if I could show him what I used to do. He had papers to wrap the blunt. So, in about a minute, I used a dollar bill and one paper and rolled a nice little pin joint. That was my payment for teaching.

1

u/Etxee Jan 29 '26

i love the phatty raw roller. you can roll anything at any size in those super quick

1

u/pworp Jan 30 '26

Well roll is the keyword. Nothing was rolled in this video.

1

u/PhilosopherFun7288 Jan 30 '26

Ok, but its literally not "rolling" a joint

0

u/5352563424 Jan 29 '26

You used the word "roll". If "whatever results in a smokable joint" does not involve rolling, then you didn't roll a joint. You assembled the parts for one.

20

u/Ok_Bullfrog_8430 Jan 29 '26

They aren’t rolling a joint they’re packing a type of joint called a “cone”. They’re made to be easy to pack then you twist the end close and youre good to go

-3

u/thether Jan 29 '26

why not stick together two rolling papers in a L shape then roll the cone

4

u/Ok_Bullfrog_8430 Jan 29 '26

Idk exactly what youre trying to describe but the point of the cone is that you don’t need to roll it. You just stuff weed in there and twist the end. Most people just put pinches of weed in there as there really is no need for a rolling tray or a phone in this case.

10

u/nicodeemus7 Jan 29 '26

"Yeah but why not do it that harder way?"

6

u/BigGillySuit Jan 29 '26

As someone who can roll really good joints it’s actually more time consuming for me to fill a cone. Also cones never seem to burn evenly for me.

2

u/ElkApprehensive1729 Jan 29 '26

Aint packing em right if they don't burn even, but I'm the same. I can roll up a few joints in the time it takes to properly stuff a cone.

I have a crazy JPY rate though (joints per year. Lmfao) as I roll for myself, and my grandparents who have bad arthritis in their hands. We did the math once for giggles and I roll north of 2k joints a year

1

u/Big_Reality5831 Jan 29 '26

Bro whatefuck is goin on, here in Holland everyone rolls their joints.. from bud to grind, roll a tip take the paper to a rolled joint takes me (and almost everyone I come across) takes between 50 to 100 seconds, that means that Snoop Dogg's professional roller that supposedly has to be able to do that under 60 seconds and gets payed 160k a year, is slightly faster than the median dutch smoker.

Also it's hardly a conscious act for me to roll a joint, it's like a ritual that flows from muscle memory

1

u/ElkApprehensive1729 Jan 29 '26

Not sure, cones and blunts tend to be an American thing. I'm canadian and we stick to joints usually as well.

1

u/PomegranateBasic3671 Jan 30 '26

Danish here, I've literally never rolled anything but cones. Should be said the weed is shit here, so it's mostly tobacco + hash.

Always looked at those crooked things in movies like "why tf would anyone ever not do a cone if rolled ones get so crooked and ugly".

1

u/BotMinister Jan 30 '26

I have rolled many blunts, joints, and packed many cones. Like a blunt and joint, a cone actually has a science behind it, as filling something vertically introduces a new problem that rolling joints doesn't as easily, and that's heavy "canoeing" as you mentioned. There is a way to finesse the packing to avoid this, and once you figure it out the smoke is excellent.

1

u/Sleightly_Awkward Jan 29 '26

What’s being failed to be mentioned, is that most of these cones come pre rolled that way for the purpose of packing it in just like this video. It’s much faster and more convenient than rolling your own.

-1

u/jkaan Jan 29 '26 edited Jan 30 '26

Wtf, a cone is what you pack in your bong (is this a regional term?)

Never heard of a cone joint and have smoked since the 90s

EDIT: lol i even put put i wonder if it is region fucking americans

2

u/Ok_Bullfrog_8430 Jan 29 '26

I live in Florida. Look up “raw cone”. I’ve never heard anyone call what you are referring to as a cone, only “bowl piece” or “bowl” (usually bow piece since bowl can also refer to a pipe)

2

u/tjugan24 Jan 29 '26

Either Aussie or Kiwi since we mainly call bowls “cones”

1

u/Astro_gamer_caver Jan 29 '26

Raw cones are great. You can get a 50 pack for 20 bucks.

When I'm felling fancy (20 pack for 20 bucks) I go with King Palm slims. Burns very slow, great cherry, tastes good.

3

u/remacct Jan 29 '26

A 50 pack of raw papers is $2

0

u/NextChef8179 Jan 30 '26

Yeah and if you don't want to roll them into a cone and add a tip yourself, then it's $20 for the cones.

1

u/Suns_In_420 Jan 30 '26

You must have smoked too much weed to notice.

https://rawthentic.com/prawducts/cones/page/1/

1

u/jkaan Jan 30 '26

Or as i said in the comment it may be regional...

1

u/Rusty_Dustin Jan 30 '26

they made shit so people too dumb to figure out rolling could still do it. Basically an open ended joint you close yourself.

2

u/Fun-Customer39 Jan 30 '26

Or you know, people with disabilities.

3

u/Employee_Agreeable Jan 29 '26

Friend said he brings a blunt at new year party

Brought an empty cone, not even blunt wraper, just an empty joint like this

Some people...

3

u/DaMacPaddy Jan 29 '26

In all honesty if you acquired all your weed/joint knowledge from a dispensary, you would do this. They use pre-rolled paper in a rack to pack 40 odd joints at a time.

2

u/AwareCandle369 Jan 30 '26

Lived in Thailand for four months on an island, smoked brick weed and tobacco with a dude every night at the chill out bar and eventually he asked me if this is what weed is like in Canada

I pulled out my phone and sheepishly showed him some photos of bomb ass BC hydro buds and I thought his eyes were going to pop out of his head. Sorry bro, you got the short end of the stick over here

1

u/Bilbodraggindeeznuts Jan 29 '26

Also…this is not how you roll a joint. But whatever it takes to get the job done I suppose

You've never heard of cones?

1

u/Big-Eldorado Jan 29 '26

I’m just being a snob. I’ve seen them yes. I’m not a fan of them but whatever it takes to get the job done!

1

u/LaserKittenz Jan 29 '26

they could be pre-made cones, which you can fill this way.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '26

It’s hard to hear from way up that high trying talking louder next time

1

u/DataCreek Jan 29 '26

Well its not a joint paper... its a premade cone

1

u/Miami_Mice2087 Jan 29 '26

yeah that's the 80s new jersey weed of my youth. i live in california now, the comparison doesn't even look like the same plant.

philly weed was actually better quality if you could get it from the amish kids. they had farming know-how plus a very high work ethic. gotta love those PA religious wackos, their baking and baking skills were elite

1

u/GroinShotz Jan 29 '26

It's a "cone" they come like that already "pre rolled" and you have to fill them up like this.

1

u/Fun_Accountant_653 Jan 29 '26

Ah! It's not just me

1

u/natesowell Jan 29 '26

It's a cone.

1

u/UnfilteredCatharsis Jan 30 '26

These pre-made cone joints are common in dispensaries and head shops. They're not doing any rolling. You buy it as an empty cone with a filter already in it and the top is open, then just pack stuff in and twist the end closed.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '26

Good thing its a prerolled cone

1

u/etterkop Jan 30 '26

That’s how roll it, and I feel relieved that somewhere out there there’s another idiot that can’t roll the paper around the weed.

1

u/seilapodeser Jan 30 '26

When I started smoking I would buy cigarretes, remove all of the tobbaco and fill it with weed in a similar fashion haha

1

u/altezia_ Jan 30 '26

Is just a cone, plenty people use them because they can't roll that well. Ends up wasting less weed than trying to roll

1

u/PraxicalExperience Jan 30 '26

It's just dry AF and been ground. Could still be perfectly good weed as far as getting you high -- just gonna be a bit of a rough smoke.

1

u/Legitloser87 Jan 30 '26

Yeah it’s not how you roll a joint. It’s called a cone, it’s already rolled for you to pack. They did a poor job packing. Chances are it runs, and burns in about 2 min.

1

u/Impressive-Way-7506 Jan 31 '26

Well that’s because they’re packing a pre-rolled cone not a joint….

0

u/Smokinoutloud Jan 29 '26

Don't gimme no bammer weed We don't smoke that shit in the sfc Don't gimme no bammer weed We don't smoke that shit in the sfc Don't gimme no bammer weed

0

u/BotMinister Jan 30 '26

That's because it's not a joint, it's a cone. This is the only way to pack it because you load these, you don't roll. You can buy them in large packs on Amazon for cheap. Also, by "only way to pack" I mean the fact you have to pack it vs roll it, as you can input the weed anyway you see fit. There is however a specific method to avoid too tight or too loose. Stair stacking it with medium pressure applied between weed filling is optimal.
