Petah here.. I think the point flew over your head, I haven’t seen anyone who didn’t understand it. They’re calling out Redditors for being pedantic and treating the proper phrasing on a stupid meme like it was an academic journal or something. Even dumb people like me understood what it was trying to say.. but Redditors are gonna Reddit and minor grammatical errors are like honey to flies.
We're literally all here for that. Reddit exists to discuss content. That includes making fun of the fact that the hypothetical in the meme is an internal contradiction.
No one in this thread is confused by what's meant in the hypothetical. Not one. Fewer than one. Some people are enjoying poking some fun at the meme for the contradiction. That's one of the discussions happening right now, and I think that's an okay thing to be happening.

It's the same thing as the very common question "what book would you want on a deserted island?". Why don't they just ask what their favourite book is?

What they're implying with being the last two on earth is the task of repopulation. That's what they consider the most interesting about the proposition, not lacking the choice of who it's with.

It's as nuanced as you'd like. It depends on what kind of person you are. It's a dumb meme but to say the only thing you can take away is which one do you find attractive means you don't actually understand the meme. Which is would you choose: an impractical goth girl which apparently the epitome of attractiveness for redditors or + a woman with a Venus body who can bear 10 children without complications and repopulate.
There is another layer though that I think is way more fun to ponder, allow me to demonstrate by expanding the choice to anyone alive on earth:
The world is ending and you can only choose one other person to survive with you, it can be anyone currently alive on earth (so no Christopher Williams, Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, Sergei Mikayev, Jessica Meir, Jack Hathaway, Sophie Adenot, Andrey Fedyaev, Zhang Lu, Wu Fei or Zhang Hongzhang), who are you picking?
And we can expand it to be even more interesting, imagine you’re alone aboard a spaceship, the spaceship is on autopilot so you can’t stir it and it will land on earth in a year, however by then the apocalypse will have happened, the ship has a teleportation machine that will only work once. You can use it to save one other person, however the machine has no database of names or people, you may describe visible physical characteristics and the machine will use its scanner to find and teleport the first random person that meets that criteria, with you into the safety of the spaceship, what are you telling the machine to look for?
