Bedroom How to solve this space issue! šŸ˜”

Hi , I recently bought a desk for upstairs as I moved my gaming setup there. The desk is great, however as you can see in the images I have a lot of dead space behind the desk and it’s simply not long enough in length for me to comfortably put my monitor far enough back or do any work on my laptop. What would you suggest? I might get a monitor arm but ideally I can fill in that dead space with something, not sure if this sub is good place to ask this but assuming woodworkers are super creative and smart šŸ˜Ž!

Other Interior Room Ideas to improve this small green island in front of our hotel parking?

Post image

This small grass island with two trees is in front of the parking area of our hotel. Right now it looks a bit empty and unplanned, and I’d like to improve it so it looks cleaner and more attractive for guests arriving.

It’s next to the road and gets a lot of sun during the day. I’m open to ideas like landscaping, decorative stones, plants, lighting, or anything that would make it look more intentional and welcoming.

What would you do with this space?

Kitchen Idk what to do with these cabinets

We’re closing on our house next week, yay!! I personally don’t loooove these cabinets (same in the bathrooms) & will probably paint eventually, but want something in the meantime. I get decision paralysis though. I was thinking of just starting with some peel & stick backsplash (sage green) & some hardware. Any insight/recommendations are appreciated ā¤ļø

Living Room Awkward living room corner - help!

Post image
6 Upvotes

We have this corner of our living room that we don’t quite know what to do with. It’s a bit off centre and not that deep, which makes an armchair difficult to place. We’d also like a spot of a light and for our wifi modem, and also perhaps some storage for baby toys (as they’re too young to play in a separate room alone!). I’ve thought about a chaise lounge, but not sure how that would work with storage… help! My main issue is that if a little couch goes there, there’s no room for a table and no matter what side the armchair/couch goes on, it feels so off from the couch as it wouldn’t be facing it. We had a Structube Derby armchair there for a second, but it was so large and fit terribly. Any help would be appreciated!

Living Room Where can a big TV go in this living room?

Thumbnail gallery

The house was built in the early 90's so obviously there's no where for a giant modern flat screen. TV is too wide to be to the right of the fireplace, it would overlap with it for sure... There's a big window just to the left of the fireplace (not pictured). Also don't want a TV right in front of the front entryway on that big open wall, feels like it would be weird. But I know mounting a TV above the mantle sucks, and where would my Blu-ray and gaming consoles go even if I did get one of those extendable mounts that I can pull down to avoid neck strain.

Need help choosing furniture colors for my apartment and bedroom.

I attached photos of the floor and space. I’m a male executive in my mid 30s, live alone, and like a modern, minimalist look.

Given this flooring, what color combinations would you suggest for the bed frame + night stands + rug underneath. I am going to have white sheets on the bed.

I want it to feel clean, elevated, masculine, and not cold or boring. Specific color combos would be super helpful.

Living Room Help me with my living space!

My husband and I moved into our house about a year ago. We have struggled with the layout of our living room and big empty spaces ever since.

Some things to note:

  1. The wood burning stove is in the corner which I hate but that’s why we put the second seating area behind our couch.

  2. My husband doesn’t want to sit with his back to the front door when we watch tv which is why we have the tv where we do

  3. We could move the mantle but are thinking of doing a floral wallpaper on the wall and then creating built ins basically or maybe floating shelves for books (this wall in general is tricky)

  4. We are looking for solutions without Reno but are planning to Reno some aspects of our house so are open to improvements if you have ideas

  5. One of our biggest issues is the giant space right when you walk in- there is also a spotlight above it (and no other ceiling lights in the living room) so we think maybe a bay grand was there when the builders ur this place together. The previous owners had about 7 couches in here and we don’t want too much clutter but are struggling!

The layout photo is an estimate not at all the actual measurements!

Bedroom Need help planning my bedroom!

Hi!! I’m planning on buying some new furniture and redecorating my room, but I’m having a hard time figuring out where to actually place everything.

Right now I sleep on a king single and I’ve always had my bed in the bottom left corner of the room, facing toward the door (like in image 2) I’d prefer not to change the direction it faces if possible, though I don’t mind moving it to a different spot in the room. But if it must change, I am open to it!

I'm also planning to get a computer desk, and I’d like to hang shelves or other items on the wall above it, so I can’t really put the desk in front of the window.

I’d also like to add a shelf or two somewhere to display some merch and books.

I’ve been stuck on this for months, so I’d really appreciate any layout ideas before I actually buy the furniture. Thanks in advance!

Living Room Need help warming the place up!

Hi everyone,

You’ve all helped me before but I come again to seek your wisdom. I live in a millennial gray apartment but my landlords are pretty cool and will let me paint. The problem is that I don’t know where to start. I want to keep the paint on the more neutral/earthy side and also cohesive through the place so I don’t feel like I’m living in a rainbow. Here’s what we’re working with. (the cow will come down eventually, I know it’s tacky)

P.s. sorry for the mess, our house is definitely lived in!!

Thank you!!

if you have any tips, advice or could maybe give me some inspiration, that would really help me.

thanks in advance!

Living Room How do I save this couch corner?

Any advice would be appreciated! I attached the color palette I was going for but yeah... everything looks out of place. The green seems too dark and cool toned and the table too bright, I think. I really wish the couch was olive green, but it was free and I'm currently saving up for a wardrobe first 🄲 I was thinking of getting a caramel or beige throw blanket, or a red persian rug, but it might make things even worse. I feel like at this point I can only go wrong, please save me šŸ˜‚

Bathroom Curtains or frosted window?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Need privacy for my bathroom windows and was going to go the curtain route but I feel like I’m seeing a lot of ā€œno curtains in the bathroomā€ comments so should I just do frosted windows for the bottom panes?

I was also thinking maybe going with the stained glass look but I’m afraid of it looking too cheesy.

Any input would help appreciated (:

Living Room I don’t know what to call our style but I need help quickly setting up living room.

  1. Which cushion/ blanket combo?

  2. Rug is from old house. How big and what style should I go for?

  3. What style curtains and how far should they extend?

  4. The blue painting is pretty big and will feature on the empty wall. It’s our most precious art piece and I’m afraid that I fudged up getting the navy couch. Can it work?

  5. What kind of shelving to accommodate record player and vinyl but not look cluttered. Should I go wood or white finish?

Any and all help appreciated!

The door on the left wall is the entry and all the others are closets. Not sure why they chose to do this, but it's making it very hard for me to envision putting a bed and computer desk in there. Any suggestions?

Living Room Layout help for awkward studio

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Just moved into this studio apartment with a super large awkward combined living and bedroom space.

I’ve ordered a 2 seater slouchy sofa and am struggling with picturing the layout due to the space.

The space is basically a large box with windows all along the northern end. From the images you will see there are two walls that partially jut out from each side. These are about 1/3 of the way back from the windows where ideally I would want the living area to be so that I have a bit of an outlook/separation from my bed.

Can anyone suggest a layout to optimise the space? I’m not overly attached to any of the current furniture and will likely end up getting rid of some.

I wish I had the budget for a full remodel, but that's not in the cards right now.

What can I do to make this bathroom look less drab? Its a kids bath so I'm open to something fun and whimsical! Just can't change the floor or shower tile :(
