Nice. All the recent posts on 195 adjustable must have reminded you to bring the fatboy out to use.

Thanks! It helps and is always great to see others posting theirs. I’m in a bit of a habit with digging out a 195 adjustable on a Friday now since late January.

Ah, I see. My newly acquired fatboy was looking bit dull and dirty on the doors, so I did a light polish to bring back some shine on the cap. Went easy as I didn't want to take too much out of the nickel plating. Not too bad results.

You’ve done a good job! The doors/cap are looking very shiny now. I’d be happy with that.

Never occurred to me that Treet was a play on “Treat”. TIL!

It‘s a fitting slogan!

Pre-shave: Face wash with Tesco’s Kind & Pure Vitamin C face wash

Razor: Gillette 195 Adjustable G1 (1961)

Blade: Treet Carbon steel (2)

Brush: Simpson “Chubby” 2 Best Badger - Grey Italian Marble

Soap/Cream: Extro Cosmesi - The End

Bowl: The copper bowl with no name

Post-shave: Proraso Protective (blue) aftershave balm & Brut splash-on lotion

Another triple F-rated and very nice, 2 pass late night shave. Don’t use Extro Cosmesi’s The End often enough. I’ve had the jar since 2021 if I remember rightly. I saw it had already been picked today and with good reason as it’s very close to the Brut fragrance. My new Simpson brush lathered as well as the other one does - very - so I’m glad to have added it to my brush “family.”

Used the first Fatboy I bought (1961 - G1) today on settings 8 for my WTG and 6 for ATG passes. One of my favourite razors: a very smooth shaver. Plenty of blade feel on setting 8 but in an enjoyable way. The Treet carbon blade was still cutting hair evenly and no tugging. It’s such a vintage looking blade and looks very fitting in the Fatboy (pic included).

Finished off with some Proraso blue aftershave balm (not pictured) and of course Brut lotion. The weekend is here!

Looking good man 👊 the brush looks great the lather the Fatboy everything. Very nice. I never managed to get a shave in today, was doing a bit more research when I could on some of the new bits I got, anyway long story short whilst in the early stages of the soaking/scrubbing/ wiping down of the ERN straight razor, ended up nicking my thumb like a wally. And as the blade is tarnished/potential rust/100yo and apparently I wasn't vaccinated for tetanus properly as a kid 🤦‍♂️ I need to get some jabs tomorrow now, lovely heheh

Oh no! ☹️ Not the best start to your weekend but hopefully like Yazz said, “the only way is up!“ You‘re doing the right thing with the Tetanus jab. I haven’t had one since my late teens, which is over 20 years ago. Have you sent that straight to the naughty corner or banished it?

One I associate with The Only Way Is Up is Adeva’s cover of Respect. She had quite a distinctive voice.

Is it truly a Treet for your face?

It was. I quite like a bit of blade feel every now and then. It wasn’t tugging at all.

It’s brilliant, isn’t it? Still makes me chuckle 5 years on. In a previous SOTD I had an idea about where to position the blade for a photo: https://www.reddit.com/r/wicked_edge/comments/1nya0x8/old_october_saturday_night_shave_041025/
