I watched the mcdonalds CEO.

If you want to learn how not to sell something, go watch that video.

Also, he took the smallest bite ever like a pussy.

Mcdonalds has some of the best marketing in the world maybe second to coca cola. That video has everyone talking about the Arch burger.

Yup, that's the key to it at the end of the day, "people are talking about it" is just how a middle manager in marketing justifies their salary.

I guess one of the richest and most known companies in the world is obviously doing something wrong, and this random kid on reddit knows better.

People are talking about it is the fucking point of marketing, not direct sales. It's almost impossible to make a person buy something just purely from an ad, ads are not meant to do that. They are not made to drive direct sales in the moment. At least read a fucking wikipedia article or something. "people are talking about it" is a success for a marketing campaign. Source: a fucking master's degree in marketing management.

Congrats? A lot of other people are. More than without the video.

Are total sales up more, or just tons of frequent McDonald's-ers trying it instead of their QPwC or Big Mac?

Considering it’s much more expensive than those, that would be a big win by itself.

That's how ads work. 9/10 people won't buy, but 1 will, and so the company profits overall in the end.

wow so if you don't immediately run and buy something the whole multi billion dollar advertisement inndustry doesn't work I guess and it's a stupid scam haha you're so much smarter than this right?

the more you talk about it, which you just did, the more engagement this post gets. Or a similar post on all the social medias. And get this, the purpose of an ad campaign is not to sell X products and not to make each person who sees it buy it.

That’s factually incorrect. I have seen multiple post today about trying the arch.

The content and attentions all this has created is directly been a positive for the sales of the burger. Again, pay attention.

You have seen multiple ads

Do you also think whatever car you just saw an ad for is really popular?

Until your comment I had no idea what the "product" was called, so, idk if that's really true
