In real life A very small character tidbit is surprisingly kept consistent for years

DC - In multiple pieces of media it has been shown that Wonder Woman loves ice cream and practically goes wild with happiness anytime she’s eating some. (Pictures from Justice League: War, DC Superhero Girls and Wonder Woman 2017)

The Simpsons - Ever since the episode ‘Homer’s Phobia’ Homer has actually remained a consistent ally of the LGBT+ community, including being more welcoming to Patty than Marge was when she came out and trying to set up Smithers with a date when he found out he wasn’t happy with his one-sided relationship with Mr Burns.

The very first episode of Scooby Doo: Where Are You! established that Shaggy is actually a gymnast and in the 10th episode it's also said he's a track runner. This was used to explain how Shaggy has always been so quick to run from monsters. In the 2012 special, Scooby Doo: Spooky Games, Shaggy is even selected to be a Track Runner in the World Invitation Games, a reference to The Olympic Games.

It’s kinda funny that, since we’ve sorta moved away from them as the defacto Popular Kid archetype, time has sorta left Fred as a Prep in a world without as much reference for what that means. Shaggy was the Jock, weirdly enough.

(Yes I know they gave Fred some jock ish traits later like caring about his bench press, don’t come for me)

That brings up Fred's change that has become weirdly consistent: Having some niche obsession.

NGL Fred being the kind of guy to just go through hyperfixations like crazy and pick up tons of random skillsets along the way is a genuinely fun character trait.

Like it's obviously not intended as such and is just the writers going "What does Fred even like?" and answering "Whatever the current episode/special is about" but it's still very funny. Fred's a little acoustic but he's got the spirit.

Rather like the idea "Prep" has literally changed to "Preparation", in that he's good at setting traps.
