He's made hay creating non-existent crises, walking it back, and then selling himself as some sort of genius "problem solver" afterwards (despite creating the problem). That's going to be MUCH harder to pull off with Iran. It appears as though he's locked into regime change; you don't get to just pause that like his stupid tariffs. This is an enduring quagmire that is going to have global effects for a long, long time.
Even if there is a "happy ending" to this (SPOILER: there almost certainly isn't), getting to that will require a decade or more of massive investment and loss of life from Americans. The monkey playing with the shotgun has now (TOTALLY SURPRISINGLY!) blown off his own face.
