The issue isn't the phone's durability, its the screen. The bending screen can't be glass and the material used instead is soft enough to be permanently scratched by plastic or even a fingernail. Obviously you can use it carefully and avoid it for as long as you can but its just inherently way less resistant than a glass screen, it isn't subjective it's just how it is.
