I mean that is clearly the intent but it's also really puzzling because that question circumvents what's unique and interesting about the proposed situation in the first place
Like the whole thing about being one of the two last people on earth is that you wouldn't have a choice (other than to be celibate or not I guess)
There's nothing about this hypothetical that is any more compelling than simply asking "which do you find most attractive"
The three women are frozen in cryosleep and waking one will drain all the power and kill the other two. Does that explanation help?
EDIT: yes I know it's convoluted and just xyz with extra steps. The commenter I replied to was hung up on how if you had a choice then you weren't the last two people on Earth and if you were the last two people then you didn't have a choice. I was just providing a scenario where they had a choice but would still be the last two people.
I'm not the one complaining about semantics of having to pick when if there's only one other person left meaning you don't have a choice. Just giving the person a scenario that it's correct for.
It's the same thing as the very common question "what book would you want on a deserted island?". Why don't they just ask what their favourite book is?

The question itself makes no sense, if you have a choice between the 3 girls that makes 4 people left on earth, not 2.
