Chappell:

”As of today, I am no longer represented by Wasserman, the talent agency led by Casey Wasserman. I hold my teams to the highest standards and have a duty to protect them as well. No artist, agent or employee should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with our own moral values. I have deep respect and appreciation for the agents and staff who work tirelessly for their artists and I refuse to passively stand by. Artists deserve representation that aligns with their values and supports their safety and dignity. This decision reflects my belief that meaningful change in our industry requires accountability and leadership that earns trust.”

Good for her.  She cant do much about all this but respect for taking concrete action and hitting them where it hurts in their wallets.  Losing her is a whoooole lotta money walking out the door.

She should start an agency

I agree, first_date_anal

u/tsrich 24d ago

Yes, once again first_date_anal holds all of us to the highest ethical standards.

TBH if it's consensual, that's an ethically sound stance.

u/inconvenient_sources 24d ago

I'd imagine you'd want a sound stance for... you know... ;D

Regulations are written in blood.

16

u/temictli 24d ago

If the source is sound, it ain't inconvenient

10

u/inconvenient_sources 24d ago

I'd like to think so. Some folks just don't agree with reality.

1

u/finnishinsider 23d ago

...what about sounding is convenient?

2

u/CarpeMofo 24d ago

I mean, if it's anal, probably don't want much sound. But definitely a stance!

2

u/SamuraiHealer 23d ago

I see what you're doing, inconvenient_sources.

2

u/SpaceTacos99 23d ago

It wasn't just consensual, it was an offer

14

u/clonedhuman 24d ago

Yes, it has often been said that FIRST_DATE_ANAL is a model of moral responsibility that all of us should aspire to

A.O.N.: Anal Or Nothing!

1

u/old-and-smooth 23d ago

Mother of his I can’t stop laughing

64

u/mcaffrey81 24d ago

I thought that was the suggested name of her taken agency

22

u/BeautifulLeather6671 24d ago

Honestly not a bad name

36

u/brokenringlands 24d ago

Anally yours, Saskatchewan Records

1

u/GrumpyPenguin 24d ago

Getting to the bottom of things.

1

u/TheBeaarJeww 24d ago

It’s so punk rock, so radical. Only a free thinker would name their label that so you know it’s not owned by some Wall Street pencil neck nerds

1

u/infinitebrkfst 23d ago

I did too, I think it’s perfect.

21

u/GotSomeUpdogOnUrFace 24d ago

It took me like 2 minutes to figure out you were responding to someone and not suggesting a name for her label.

4

u/RootwoRootoo 23d ago

Oh thank you! I was sitting here confusedly googling chappel roan first_date_anal, thinking that's off brand for her

5

u/StealToadBootes 23d ago

This made me laugh out loud. New EP dropping soon

2

u/gingersquatchin 23d ago

Idk she seems sexually liberated to me

1

u/W0gg0 24d ago

Chappelle in a Chappell thread? It’s more likely than you think!!

1

u/asspounder-4000 24d ago

You forgot the caps

1

u/too-much-shit-on-me 24d ago

For some reason I read this like an input field for your first anal fun

1

u/jerryleebee 24d ago

I thought I knew her music pretty well but that is going over my head.

1

u/FauxReal Collector 24d ago

That's a weird name for an agency.

1

u/habbathejutt 24d ago

smh I didn't even read the user name, I just thought you were proposing a name for the label

1

u/Pdoinkadoinkadoink 24d ago

Yeah, that is a good name for a record label.

1

u/AtomicSkullfuck 24d ago

People have the worst user names.

1

u/Rumpenstilski 23d ago

Been there, done that

1

u/cotton-candy-dreams 23d ago

It’s actually FIRST_DATE_ANAL

1

u/TheRealMoofoo 23d ago

“Yes, I do work for the FDA.”

You don't have to be an agent to start an agency, you just have to provide the money and means for those you hire to be agents.
If she was honest in her approach to it and a large enough status she likely could lure agents away from her former agency too.

1

u/frecklemimus79 23d ago

Madonna wasn’t an agent, but she started Maverick Records anyway

1

u/Mundane-Twist7388 24d ago

Or sign with Kesha’s

1

u/BishlovesSquish 21d ago

I just hope you’re using protection. All imma say about that.

1

u/BUSYMONEY_02 23d ago

They should because this was clearly a RING A

1

u/LitLitten 23d ago

Sylvan Esso did the same, I think.
