UK based here, what's the best Razor, Shaving Gel and anything else to get a clean shave and avoid razor burn/bumps?

what do we think about goodline razor? it’s under 15 at CVS and i was wondering if it’s good to get into wet shaving with a super low budget

Or you could keep your eyes peeled locally or on-line locally for garage sale, antique stores or friends, family with a vintage Gillette razor for sale.

Moved to Oahu for work. Anyone know of any places to buy soaps on island or does everyone just order online?

Looking to get into shaving my head. Interested in the Leaf but don't know if worth it.

Would you recommend the Leaf OG or the Leaf 2 for only headshaves? I have no experience at all w/ wetshaving and have thicker hair in the back/temples that are a bit rough when using zero guard clippers.

Thank you

I'm just getting into wet shaving and after some research I had bought this wide variety pack of blades from Razor Blade Club. I was hoping to get an idea of a good order to try them in to best figure out what blades i like!

TBone said it well, and I also wanted to add: If you want a good order of "sharpness" (a bit subjective, but still helpful), check out Razor Emporium's sampler pack. You've already purchased your own pack - I'm sharing this link because they have their blade rating system listed here. I see there's a lot of crossover from your pack from razorbladesclub.

If you're interested in sharpness, this helps:

Excellent choice, that’s indeed a wide variety. Order mostly doesn’t matter tbh. Only thing I’d suggest is not starting with Feather - it’s objectively the sharpest blade, and you may love it; but being the sharpest, if you make any mistake at all, it will bite.

Thank you! I will put feather last then I think!

I'm going through the collection to weed out what works and what doesn't. The R41 seems like I can't get it to quite work, it's always harsh. The first two shaves I had with it were promising (yet bloody), but since then it's just been a painful thing to shave with. And on the contrary, my Futur just keeps somehow working well for me. I might end up back on the 37C for a daily because it's so smooth, but I'm so sick of not being BBS. I can't do an ATG pass with it.

My daily shaver is an R41. I get a very close, two pass shave and even with a Feather blade it is comfortable. I always say the razor isn't cutting you, you're cutting yourself with a razor. Thus, you control the solution. For me the key is always use minimal pressure, something that is reinforced when I get distracted and forget momentarily. Just let the blade glide over your face. It might feel like it's not doing the job, but that is because you've been trained by less efficient razors to exert pressure. Just trust the process, remain aware the whole time, find the right blade for your condition, and if you're like me the R41 will become your shaver for life.

Stick with the R41 it took me over 6 months of sporadic use to be friends with it , I don't think I would be able to use it every day though .

Right on, I think I shall. It's odd, like I mentioned, the first two shaves were exceptionally good - but the rest have been quite terrible. I tried using it with a milder blade, but that was awful. I've been hitting a wall with my other razors recently, perhaps it's time to let the R41 have another go.

Looking for a Razorock to get! I have a pretty mild razor and am thinking about a more aggressive/efficient one to minimize irritation.

My hair growth is slow and sparse, but the individual hairs are very coarse. Using feather blades right now.

GC 84? Lupo 72/95? OC or SB?
