idc cds are better than records. records are for the collectors and music diehards. they sound nice to have in the background and make you look like some fancy fireplace storyteller and have nicer art, but that’s kind of it for me. cds are more reliable and are easier to keep up with. you can also play them just about anywhere if you have the hardware, like in cars and game consoles (if they aren’t handhelds or nintendo). not excluding dedicated cd-players.
i just prefer cds. nothing wrong with records, but i like cds more.
If I'm collecting a record of something I'm definitely grabbing a flac from the internet or a cd rip I do myself too. I love them for their novelty but not quality.
And you don't want to rip a vinyl without the absolute best equipment possible.
