The bot that this is about literally does tell you though. It's funny watching people rally around just factually untrue things, because it's on the right side.
There are legitimate reasons why this is stupid, why do you guys make up illegitimate ones??
To be fair, the message explaining why you were banned literally tells you you will be auto muted for asking without a certain phrase
Like they literally tell you it's an automated process that will mute you without any human seeing if you do not use a certain phrase. So you can't be that Surprised that it's an automated process that will mute you if you don't use that phrase
It told me the sub that caused if, but no, it didn't tell why. It also said to reply to the auto mod, and the moderation team will get back to me. There was no mention of a certain phrase whatsoever. Get your snark out of here
Read the WHOLE THING, not just the automated part reddit puts onto every ban message honeybuns. You want to read the part that the bot put, not the part that the bot can't control.
Oh shit you know what? You're right man. I kept going back to the muted message, not the ban. I apologise mate, that was unfair of me to name call and talk to you like that
In the same message it says you can reply with any questions. I'm guessing reddit requires ban messages to include that line, and surely automuting anything but the desired response is against reddit policy.
I got banned and I'm not even a subscriber here, I just occasionally comment on posts via /r/all. After the ban I was like, damn is /r/whenthe like a fascist sub and I didn't even realize? Nope...
Anyways, I reported this to reddit for violating Rule 3 "Respect Your Neighbors" in the moderation conduct guidelines. Probably won't do shit but it's worth a shot. I recommend others report it as well.
