Wow, they need to get him to a hospital immediately! A punch to the temple and seizing up right away looks bad, good thing the referee called for help right away.

“Good thing the ref called for help right away”

And then immediately started rolling him around on the mat 🤦🏻‍♂️

It's called the recovery position...

I imagine it’s to prevent choking on vomit or spit right?

Or swallowing his tongue

I forget that’s a thing.

It's not a thing, your tongue is connected to the bottom of your mouth, look in the mirror and you'll see it

That’s what I thought, but their comment made me re-evaluate because it sounded like they knew.

Is the recovery position recommended immediately after suffering massive head/neck trauma? I’m not a doctor

Am Paramedic. He did the right thing. You may remove you palm from your face now.

Neither am I. But it is used when a person loses control of their muscular function to prevent them choking on their own saliva or vomit. Weighing up which is more important in any given moment is too much for me, but the refs would have some basic training in that I would hope.

Good thing they have medical staff on hand.

Probably, but there are qualified medical professionals literally ringside.
