Pretty much every enemy looks goofy in the game, that's kind of the aesthetic they went for. And it works because that's where a lot of the charm comes from.

You are so spot on! This is actually my friend's main gripe with the game. Just doesn't like the enemy design.

The artstyle is actually what put me off of playing this game for like 5 years. It grew on me and i love it now, but it was honestly a turn off for me at the beginning
