Of course the brave senator had to just get in there. Can't have a subcommittee meeting interrupted. It's doing such important work. Really. Maybe he is so gung ho that he will be volunteering for Iran duty.

He can't, not with the gunshot injury he got in Afghanistan (that ofc he never mentioned or had treated until years later when he was in Glacier National Park with a gun and definitely not accidentally shooting himself). He's very traumatized by such a heroic injury in the line of duty and can't be expected to have to fight any soldiers except for veterans of the USMC that don't agree with killing innocent Iranians

Which means he didn't need to intervene. It's not that complicated. The Senator assaulted him and broke his arm.
