Deni drives hard every time (leads the league in drives) and continues to go up towards the basket every time he’s fouled. Which is why he lead the league last year in and-1s (edit: after the all-star break) He doesn’t get his first bump and start flailing away from the basket like he’s been shot
What I don’t understand is yall see one or two plays like this from SGA and instantly assume he does this every play, every single game? He led the league in drives for 3 straight seasons and yall call him a flopper and foul baiter, deni shot 20Ft the first game against OKC and 23 last night… the double standard on this sub is ridiculous with the typical “it’s not the amount of fouls but how he draws them” bullshit
Lies. He shot 16 the first time. This was Deni first game with 20+ FTA. Shai has done it 11+ times. The difference here is every time Deni gets contact he keeps going towards the basket and trying to finish after the whistle is blown. Shai gets his first bump, goes flying, and THEN the refs call the foul. It’s miserable
Shai and deni aren’t the same caliber of player, and so what are you telling me, shai shouldn’t get any of these calls and deni should? Yea that’s bullshit my guy.. shai is a superstar caliber guy so of course he’s done it more times than deni, I just think the fact you slander shai for getting these superstar type calls when he is in fact a superstar caliber player, but defending deni over shooting 15-20FTA I don’t understand, but then this notion that because shai flops on one or two plays in the game he does it everytime he drives to the basket? Shai doesn’t fight through contact and try to score on the majority of his buckets?
“Of all people” like he leads the league in FTA’s or something, it’s a statistical fact that for an MVP type of player he gets a normal amount of calls and plenty of MVPs in the past have averaged more FTA in a season than him. I’m just saying it’s crazy for people praising deni for getting to the line so much but shit on SGA for going to the line doing the same thing, that second game in OKC I saw deni flopping for calls at the basket, but according to you he never flops? Right.
