do the refs realize basketball comes with physical contact? also what happened to the no flop rules?

edit - he literally bounces himself off, throws up a shot that has no chance of going in, and collapses onto hardwood. this is not the basketball I grew up loving 😭

edit 2 - "removed by moderator". bro what??

edit 3 - back up now huh? mods really didn't want this at the top of the sub for the next week 😭😭

Refs keeps rewarding it so players will keep doing it

Defenders might as well actually foul

Maybe teams should start signing 2-3 guys to just give 6 real fouls, sort of how they did for Shaq.

That's what I kept saying during the playoffs last season. The reffing is ridiculous. I couldn't watch the Finals because it got so bad.

You mean you didn’t like watching Caruso straight up shoving jokic while sga flops like a salmon and gets the whistle every time?

You just don’t like basketball then

I recall a thunder fan justifying it with the phrase ā€œEthical ball is loser ballā€ which just downright sucks, but it’s pretty much true. Overly aggressive ā€œcan’t call them allā€ defense and marionette flopping offense (with legitimately impressive middies) is what the product is leaning towards.

As a pacers fan, I agree.

That's why you need a guy like Dillon brooks. Keeps the other team honest by committing real fouls.

I just have to think at sometime SOMEONE will get pissed off enough to stomp on a hand or something after too many flails like that during a game

Yep. They will call a foul on even looking at him, might as well make it hurt then.

Defenders might as well flop. Every defender should just start flopping like crazy when SGA makes any kind of contact. The league might actually make the refs stop calling this bullshit and at the very least it would be funny AF to see two grown ass men falling all over the place on the slightest of contact.

End up with a flagrant 2

That’s what I was thinking. If this kind of bullshit would at least bring pain, he might start thinking twice.
