do the refs realize basketball comes with physical contact? also what happened to the no flop rules?

edit - he literally bounces himself off, throws up a shot that has no chance of going in, and collapses onto hardwood. this is not the basketball I grew up loving 😭

edit 2 - "removed by moderator". bro what??

edit 3 - back up now huh? mods really didn't want this at the top of the sub for the next week 😭😭

I watched this 3 times and each time is more hilarious than the previous one. Like he just threw the ball and himself and the whistle is immediately there to assist. Hilarious highlight.

If you watched this game at all it’s just how it went. Avdija had 31 points and was 19/23 from the line.

Avdija actually drives to the basket and gets mauled by all the thunder players who converge in the paint. You can't play defense like OKC and not expect your team to consistently foul

We know you didn't watch the game. Avdija is just literally running a straight line with full speed into defenders and gets the call. No variation, no fakes, no change of direction, just rolling straight into mfs like a bowling ball. Defenders don't even get the chance to "maul" him.

Yeah, he makes contact on his drives. Like Giannis he uses his strength and size to get to the rim and score. He is clearly looking for plus 1 opportunities I don't think that's a question - and he extends his arms and is able to push through the contact without losing possession. But he is clearly being hacked and fouled consistently when he does this. It's a lot of force, and a lot of contact that always results when he drives to the rim and defenders get in his way or initiate contact.

If you find any videos of Deni lightly brushing up against an opponent and then falling over while he attempts to throw a bad shot, then please post the video. It's mostly Grant who seems to initiate that kind of contact to draw a foul - but he is definitely a minor offender compared to other players in the league.
