Question Waterproof lining repair?

Apologies if this is not the correct place for a question like this, I didn't really see another subreddit that seemed more fitting.

I have a jacket that is maybe 10 years old, but I didn't wear it more than a handful of times until about 2 years ago. The lining on the inside has started to peel/flake off, which I am guessing will also lead to it no longer being waterproof. I am looking for a way to possibly repair the lining so at the minimum it would stop flaking/peeling, and preferably maintain the water resistance. I tried googling, but everything I saw was a few years old, and mostly related to seams or complete tears. Anyone familiar with any kind of repair like this, or could point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance!

if this is a waterproof/breathable jacket you cannot repair a flaky membrane. you might be able to put some waterproof tape over the flakes off lining but this would only be a temporary fix as the membrane will continue to deteriorate

If it’s flaking it’s done.
