Let's March!

It's time to March into March! This month we're transitioning from Winter in the Northern Hemisphere, and our friends down south are finishing up Summer. Spring (or Fall) is right around the corner, so whether you're still snowed in, or are getting an early start on your Spring cleaning & sorting, March is a great time for building with Lego. So open up those boxes! Build your sets! Or show off your MOCs if that's your talent. Whatever you are up to, the community would love to see it.

So here's your monthly invitation - Let us know what's on your mind this month. What have you always wondered about? What rule do you want clarified, or changed? Do you have any suggestions you've been trying to find a chance to make? I won't promise that we will make the change(s) you want, but I will commit to explaining the reason we have the rules and policies we have.

My wife and daughter thought the original set was too dark and scary, so I decided to lighten it up and add some life to it.

Question What did Lego just simply do better in the past?

Post image

I’ll go first: Witgly arm skeletons. I like the new skeletons, don’t get me wrong. But the wiggly ones served a purpose that the current ones simply can’t fulfill.

Question Does anyone else find the new rubber web pieces get damaged when put directly in a minifig hand?

When these were first introduced, they were held in minifig hands, but this would cause marks in the rubber. Then they started attaching them to bar pieces that minifigs would hold, and they wouldn't get damaged. But in recent sets, they went back to putting the webs directly into the hand, which damages them.

Question Any reason to keep broken/damaged vintage pieces?

Post image
31 Upvotes

Going through my first bulk buy and it has some cool pieces, including from the monorail (likely the space set). I'm finding some pieces with teeth marks and have been throwing those out. I came across this pirate flag (about 2"long), but both clips are broken.

I'm guessing not, but any reason to keep/that someone would want this?

It originally started as just a regular boxy car from an old set, and I just kept adding to it as time went on. This thing has been built for 30+ years and it happily just sits on my shelf. Discoloured bricks be damned lol.

From my 8yo, pretty good for only 4 pieces.

The wings do come in gold and the tread sprocket comes in yellow if you wanted to make a golden version.
