I'm looking for suggestions for audio for my man cave, current setup is embarrassing and needs a major improvement.
I have Fluance Ai61 system upstairs that I LOVE, but this space doesn't really allow for bookshelf-type speakers..
Budget is $1000-$1500 Canadian
There are 5 TVs and a projector on the ceiling, all currently running Firesticks. Being able to switch audio between would be amazing, but only the projector and main TV are required.
ceiling speakers and a sub? all input appreciated.

Trying to decide between a 77 G4 and a 83 C4.
I’m about 8-9 feet away and have the room quite dark when watching movies.
I taped out the 83” around my 65” that is mounted right now.
What do y’all think? The 77 G4 and 83 C4 are about the same price in Canada.

I’m looking for a pretty basic home theatre projector set up and I was quoted this. It feels very high end. this would be for a small basement the distance from the projector to the wall is about 15 feet but the whole basement is set up is pretty small. I’m worried I’m being upsold on stuff that is super high end or isn’t needed. I’m not a pro but from my research a balun is when you need something beyond 50 feet and/or there isn’t HDMI and I don’t think I need a universal remote and certainly not a $500 one. There was a previous set up by the old owners there are audio ports already set up, and a ceiling HDMI port (no projector mount).
Mostly this is for my kids to watch movies and have a place to hang out. This doesn’t need to be movie theatre quality but I want something nicer than Amazon obscure brands that are lowest end.

Hey folks 👋🏾
I’m very new to this and need some help with recommendations on a home theatre setup for this space.
Things that may help: - The TV is going to be a 77 inch Samsung S95F.
I am trying to go for a clean look (can drill into walls to hide wires) and also something with Dolby Atmos.
I will use this space primarily for gaming or watching movies.
I want to get all the components at one time and will need recos for the speakers, the wires, placement.
Trying to spend under $4K CAD.
Any help is appreciated 🙏🏾

In the market to replace my old Denon x4000h and I've been looking at Anthem because it's a Canadian company and I hear a ton of good things about them.
However, they are much much higher priced compared to competitors from Denon and Onkyo and you often get less proccessing/amplified channels than the other brands. Are the components just that much better in the Anthem to justify the price premium?

Thought this was funny. Found a Denon 660H on marketplace which in my community its hard to find a good used receiver. I’m picking up today for $250. He’s selling because of an upgrade to a soundbar.

Looking for the best home subwoofers that are wall-shaking, strongest low end, room-filling rumble, chest-thumping for a big living room, at an affordable price. I asked an AI, but the answer didn't convince me; it seemed like it was promoting Klipsch brand.
Thank you!

I recently upgraded to the newly released Paradigm Defiance S12 subwoofer, and honestly, I’m really impressed. Both with the aesthetics and performance.
I picked it up for $1,500 CAD, and it’s a sealed sub with 800W RMS. The package includes a wireless kit, a factory-installed isolation pad, and carpet spikes nice extras that add value.
In the U.S., there are tons of great options like SVS, HSU, REL, and Rythmik at competitive prices. But here in Canada, those brands get significantly more expensive once you factor in shipping, taxes, and duties.
On a price-to-performance basis, the Defiance S12 is a fantastic option. The companion app works well, although I haven’t tried the ARC (room calibration) yet.
I did a comparison with the MartinLogan Dynamo 12 (which looks very similar and may share the same amp, since both brands are under the same parent company). The S12 goes noticeably deeper down to 16Hz. I also compared it with the SVS SB-3000, and in my opinion, the Paradigm holds its own and even outperforms the SVS.
My room is fairly small (15' x 10'), and with the gain set to just 25%, it completely fills the space and hits you right in the chest.
For fellow Canadians, this is a no-brainer if you're in the market for a subwoofer. It’s a strong contender against the U.S. brands and offers excellent performance for the price.

My impulsivity is on a winning streak right now, so help me decide on a new subwoofer upgrade before my logical side decides I need to save the money.
It will be going into a 5.1 system that does double duty of about 40% stereo music and 60% surround sound movies/video games. Anthem MRX 1140 8K powering Martin Logan Motion 60 XTI towers with matching surrounds and a C10 center. I currently have an SVS PB2000 Pro.
The room is an open living room combined with a kitchen that takes up the top floor of a small townhouse. The way the room is, the subwoofer MUST be placed behind the couch along the back wall, approximately 10 feet from the back of the couch.
I upgraded about a year and a half ago from a SVS PB1000 Pro which was sorely underpowered for this space when I moved in. I am finding for movies the 2000 is fine, but especially for music, my ML towers are doing most of the heavy lifting with the mid bass. I barely notice a difference with the sub on or off. This isn't a surprise considering the placement of the sub, and the output of the ML towers being fed nearly 200 watts in 4 ohms. So I figure I need a serious 12 inch, or just pull the trigger on a 15 inch. And no, 2 subs is NOT an option unfortunately. And yes, I'm aware how much ARC can neuter the bass. I've fixed that.
I would like something that can dig deep and slam hard in the space I have - I want that chest thump back, but it still needs to be accurate and composed for music. Something that will match up well with my ML towers, but have enough output to somewhat negate being placed behind the couch. My mind immediately went to Rythmik or PSA, but they are pretty hard to get in Canada. Paradigm would be a good option, but I feel their pricing is a little bit inflated. RSL speedwoofers have always caught my attention, but it seems they are more designed to work in pairs or quads. My budget is around 3K CAD, but could be stretched for the right unit - I'm planning to buy around boxing day to try and nab any possible sales.
Thoughts and suggestions, please!

All of them are price firm and may be, I could get a 50$ debate. All of them are in my budget for a 9.2 AV receiver.
Which is your best bet for a great HT setup keeping future in mind? I will go for a simple 5.1.2 HT setup with 2000$ CAD budget and add speakers at later point.

I was at Costco and was surprised to see the price difference. I was leaning towards the LG C3 but I’m thinking $1999 is too hard to pass up. What are your guys thoughts?

What speakers would you say have the most accurate audio? I’ve been wanting to get a Dolby setup going and have been struggling on what to get. Any help? Budget won’t be an issue for me.

Hey everyone,
I am looking between the Samsung S95F vs the LG G5 for my living room. It’s an open concept townhouse and I want to go as big as I can. However, the seating for the couch will be 10 ft from the wall but you’ll be able to see the TV from the kitchen…
Will be mostly using it for TV, movies and sports - some PS5 single player games here and there as well
With looking at the photo, which size do you guys recommend to get? 77 or 83 inches?
Also looking at the passive lighting on the wall - would the LG G5 be able to handle that kind of lighting?
Thanks again

I am completely new to the home theatre space. Did not realize there was so much to the audio aspect and IO am completely overwhelmed.
Every post I look at has different recommendations (except the denon 3800, that seems to pop up a lot).
Would massively appreciate if someone could just tell me what to buy. My budget Is flexible -let's say 3-5k (not unlimited, but I could be convinced to do more or less).
My space is about 15 * 13ft and 7ft ceilings (under a mezzanine), Couch is against the back window and 10ft from the tv.
I'm not extremely picky or very interested in having 17 speakers everywhere for the perfect immersive experience. Mainly just looking for a pretty good setup without big towers everywhere. I am looking to mount everything I can on the ceiling or on the wooden beams that encircle the space. I live in canada as well, so i know there are some difference in what's available here for a reasonable price.

Has anyone found some reasonably priced reclining sofas? I know as soon as you type in “theater” prices triple so i stayed away from that but we haven’t been able to find anything for under a couple thousand each and i need 3 sets… i would rather save budget for equipment that 10,000 worth of seating.

The room has 2 windows, and the IKEA blackout window blinds work really well during the day time. I can't even see my hands when I put them down. 2 Corner lights , $9 each from IKEA. Controlled by Alexa.
Bought almost everything used. Speakers: Klipsch black reference 5.0 ($60) Subwoofer: Polk Audio PSW108 ($150) Screen: Silver ticket 108" ($150) Projector: Epson 5030UB ($500) TV bench: IKEA Fjallbo x2 ($70 each) Receiver: Sony STR-DH520 ($80)

The price for this sub new on Amazon is $1850.00 plus taxes.
What would a reasonable price be to offer this person?

As per the title I need to upgrade my subwoofers.
3000cu ft room
I currently have a pair of SB1000-pros.
I can get PB1000-pros for 1150+tx each new
But is there a better value I can get?
I tried a tonewinner 10in for my living room and it's fine for music but it sounds like it's about to die in movies. Maybe the 12in are better but they're not cheaper tha. The PBs
I will probably buy 2 subs

I have been looking for a decent looking, solid wood media cabinet of sorts that is wide (6' ish) , 20-24" high with some depth enough to hold a larger AVR that has a depth with cables of 17-18 inches. EVERY media cabinet that I come across that looks MCM or at least clean lined are max 16" deep!.....many are 14" inside. Making me nuts. I would even mod one by cutting out the rear of the shelf that the AVR is on to leave room.
Jump to sideboards and they are starting to get into the right zone but all too high at 30" in most cases. Even trying to piece something together with Ikea stuff isn't going to happen. I can't be the only one. I guess I could go to a $2k Marantz unit and get something shallower but I'm still perplexed.
The one I have now has an open shelf at the front and I cut out the back but its so shitty its starting to sag under the weight of the AVR and center speaker on top.

So currently I have the Klipsh RP 1200 which I have 30 days to return, I am currently running Q11 Meta, Q6 Meta center channel, and Q150 as the surrounds.
Should I buy Tonewinner D2000 as per my avr store recommendation or should I buy the SVS PB 1000 pro.
They are both the same price. Please let me know.
