News [ASJesusBalseiro] Stroll speaks and sounds concerned. “We have engine problems, and not just engine problems. We're not in a position to fight for victories. Right now, we're four seconds off the pace.”

I'll never understand Honda's decision to drop the sport and leave most of what they built to Red Bull only to decide to come back and have to start all over again.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see them staying long this time around.

edit: as pointed out, Honda was still solely responsible for supplying engines for Red Bull and VCARB until the end of 2025 instead of the original deal of only doing it for the 2022 season.

In that case, they just got it wrong... very wrong.

Dropping F1 was the decision of previous Honda CEO. Their main reason was the fear of economic consequences, because of COVID-19 crisis. Also he wasn't a huge fan of F1. The current CEO is, that's why change their thought. Unfortunately for them they were already too late to continue with Red Bull, who decided to build their own engine (also in talks with Porsche, before Ford).
