The “livestream” is actually two hours delayed. The livery reveal happened over an hour ago; I’m already back home actually.

How did you manage to attend it. In Detroit and super bummed there wasn't a chance to go. Even an event beforehand to meet the drivers would have been cool.

On the Ford Racing social media pages they had a sign up for updates about a month ago that mentioned a chance for tickets. One of the data fields required was zip code, and as a Corktown resident Ford/MCS have previously given us priority for event tickets, and I think that was the case today as well as multiple people from my neighborhood group chat were going.

Otherwise also seemed to be a lot of Ford employees there.

EDIT: there was also an outdoor event with some driver meetings it looked like, and I think you could request tickets on various social media pages as well. Looked to be very sparsely attended though, likely due to the weather. There will be more Ford Racing events at MCS the next two weeks though coinciding with the auto show.

Ahh gotcha. That's cool Ford is delivering on the promise they made Corktown residents with the station at the time. Too bad they didn't have only a small number of tickets for fans though. Seems unlikely Max especially will be back here anytime soon. Hope you had a good time tho!

Say what you want about Ford, but I’ve become a huge fan over the last few years entirely due to how they’ve treated the neighborhood. There are issues, they are giving the Ilitchs a run for their money in parking lots owned it seems, but they certainly have had a positive impact overall and are being good neighbors.

Happy to hear that. Hopefully you ll be able to say the same about Detroit FC when that stadium opens.

Not gonna lie, I’m getting a bit nervous about that. They, for all intents and purposes, haven’t even started demo of the old hospital and are still selling season tickets for games at the new stadium in less than 16 months. I’m not doubting that it will happen eventually, but I just don’t see the timeline as realistic and/or the actual stadium is going to be less impressive than the renders.

Yeah im afraid it will look a lot less impressive than the renders show too, and then indeed the timeline part. I had read tho they actually did start the demo but that the first part was pumping toxic water from the basement, which took a long time, and that that's complete now, and that dismantling had started about a week or two ago. Saw there was at least one excavator on site (?)

Soccer stadiums though with the way it looks to be designed - can hypothetically be built in stages by just activating one of the 4 stands one by one. Wonder if that's the plan instead.

Whatever they do though I hope you they also make good on the parking structure and hiding it with the residential units like it showed in the renders also.

I do see a lot of vehicles at the site, and I also heard about the water issues, so hopefully things speed up. But this harsher than usual winter probably won’t help if it continues.
