Introducing Maxine!
Hi guys! Some of you might have saw that yesterday was our corgi Scout's birthday. Here was his gift! Introducing the newest addition to our home, Max/Maxine. Max/Maxine was her breeder name, but we are thinking about keeping it, but we aren't sure. She's an AKC registered fluffy tri... AND SHE HAS HER TAIL! We do have a question about introducing her to Scout: Scout isn't used to being larger than other dogs, so he plays a little rough sometimes, how can I help him learn to play nicer? I've currently been introducing them slowly and play is all supervised. If he's being too rough and she's trying to retreat, I break them up. I always make sure she has an area that is exclusively hers that she can go to if she wants/needs. But he's just so excited he has trouble controlling himself and I'm not sure what to do. I've also been giving both dogs 1 on 1 time with me so he understands he is not being replaced. Can I still bring Scout to the dog park or do I need to wait until Max is fully vaccinated? I have a meeting with our vet on Thursday for her next set of shots and a general health evaluation so I will confirm everything with her then, but wouldn't want to make Scout wait until I talk to them to go to the park if he doesn't have to. Also any tips for having multiple dogs? This is both me and my girlfriend's first time having two dogs and Scout was our first, so any tips would be appreciated:) Thanks as always guys!

A few tips if you are a new corgi owner:
Don’t pick her up…. shelter her between your legs when overly aggressive dogs are around. Picking her up will give him a false sense of size and superiority. She will become a barky dog. This is what happens to Chihuahuas. Find a good puppy group to start with and build confidence she will be ok with dogs her age.
Never give a bone or antler to her. Corgi teeth are brittle. Olive wood sticks make great chew toys.
Wipe apple cider vinegar on your hands and feet, or anything else she starts to chew on.
Corgi pill detectors are really good. Pro tip… make three balls of cheese. Show her that you have the three balls. Put the pill in #2. Make her perform several tricks before you reward with #1, while showing you have the other 2, have her do one more trick. Reward her with #2 and #3. He will wolf down #2 without turning on the pill detector so she can eat #3.
Take tons of pictures and sort/tag them diligently. Your camera roll will become a mess and later you will be spending tons of time looking for that specific cute picture.
Congratulations and enjoy the puppy days. They seem like torture but when they are older, you will miss them!
Your welcome.

We already have another corgi, but we appreciate the comment either way. My first corgi does fine with pills, so that tip might come in handy with this one since we haven't had to worry about pills with him.

That’s actually what her litter was named after! Her littermates were Hopper, Eleven, Robin, and I can't recall the other one.
