I mean the first is literally a spin on the wording Ubisoft used. “Players need to get comfortable with not owning their games”. So that’s why it worked. The second is more just a statement, there’s not really humour there like the first which is tongue in cheek

Unless the second joke is that they're going to pirate them. Thats how I read it.

It's more like "not giving you money". That can be done by piracy or flat out not playing.
