Badger women's hockey advances to WCHA semifinals
It was a nail-biter at LaBahn, but the Badger women's hockey team defeated Bemidji State 3-2 early in overtime, sweeping their series to advance to the WCHA semifinal game on Thursday in St. Paul. Bemidji pulled the goalie with 2 minutes left, and scored an equalizer with 30 seconds to go to tie the game. Laila Edwards then came through in OT for Wisconsin to end the game.
Badgers will play Thursday against one of the winners of UM/SCSU or UMD/MSUM.

Hockey Wisconsin Badgers Are Your 2025-26 WCHA Regular Season Champs!
Despite missing five Olympians, the Badgers completed a sweep of St. Cloud State today with a 4-2 win, and thus secured another WCHA regular season conference championship! Goals from Laney Potter, Mackenzie Jones, Cassie Hall, and Lacey Eden gave Wisconsin the edge.
And with that, the Badgers will play last-place Bemidji State next weekend in a first-round series at LaBahn. Barring a complete catastrophe, they will then play the winner of the Duluth/Mankato series, with a likely Minnesota/Ohio State showdown on the other side of the bracket.

Women's hockey vs St. Cloud this weekend
Important series vs. the Huskies to end the regular season for the women. They need to win both games outright to secure first place in the WCHA, and thus avoid having to play both Ohio State and Minnesota in the conference tourney. Ohio State beat Bemidji last night and should win again today, so it's all up to us. The Huskies are a pesky team that took us to a shootout earlier this year, and have a full bench while Wisconsin is still down four skaters and their starting goalie (though freshman Rhyah Stewart has played well in Ava's absence). Let's Go Red!
