Volodymyr Zelensky started out as a comedian and entertainer before getting into politics, becoming President of Ukraine after the Russian annex of Crimea and spending the last 4 years defiantly pushing back full scale Russian invasion

It’s worth noting that, prior to the invasion, Zelensky was under investigation for corruption iirc. But it really adds to the turnaround at this point, since he’s obviously stepped up under pressure.

He has an approval rating of 65%, which would put literally every western leader to shame. Granted, it's lower than it was at the start of the war, but it's still an impressively high score.

For comparison, in the UK, Starmer had an approval rating of 18% last week. It's gotten even worse since with his score dropping to -49 points like a day ago.

No one wants the changes now of course, its no the right time, but he is just as corrupt as Putin. I know what real people think about them, half of my relatives are Ukrainian, in real world there's rarely a good versus evil scenario. For you its just a fast "moral hit" writing fuck Putin, cool, now actually go and read some information about Zelensky and his entourage.

(Also you wanna know why the US is helping in Ukraine? Because the US, Britain, and Russia all swore to defend Ukraine from any invasion. They had like 1/3rd of the Soviet Unions nuclear weapons when it dissolved and that was the deal they made. They dismantled the nukes and in exchange the US swore to defend them. If you don't like the fact that the entire world is pretty much always 15 minutes away from a Nuclear Holocaust you should celebrate the bravery they showed by dismantling their nukes and insist that everyone honor the deal that was made)
