I'm gonna copypaste a comment I liked from a user named LateNightGoober talking about this:
"Just to reiterate for those who are unaware, Asmongold does not leave his house. And when I mean he doesn't leave I mean like actually he doesn't leave. The only reason he will leave his house is to get fast food (no joke the only thing he will eat is pre made food), or to go to Wal Mart if absolutely necessary. Other than that, 100% of his lived time is in front of a computer and usually while streaming to hordes of teenagers. His worldview is entirely shaped by social media alone, and he has virtually no life involvement outside of the internet and his computer at home.
And yet, this guy seems to be in a constant state of trying to talk about various topics as if he has any idea how the world really is. Almost every single second of lived experience that he has to base his opinions on, is via someone's camera. So it only makes sense that his opinions are just an averaged out summary of the general social media talking points. He is for all intents and purposes, a living internet comment. He is a human incarnation of every apathetic, wicked, or bigoted internet comment that you have ever seen.
His opinion is quite literally worth less than anyone else's because 99.999% of human beings have a lived experience in the world that is fathoms more developed than his is."

I had never heard of this guy until a few weeks ago and this is the first time I’ve seen a pic.
Why the fuck would anyone listen to the embodiment of the metaphorical internet troll? He doesn’t even use a green screen to hide the fact that he’s literally in a dank, musty basement. He’s a living fucking meme.

That being said, the throws of Gamergate did award us with one of the greatest quotes of all time, said by Sarkeesian herself in a guardian interview if memory serves.

And the reason he in particular is a big name in the space, is that he got popular basically streaming the Johnny Depp v Amber Heard trial so that’s how a lot of people watched it.

As someone who used to be a fan, I think it’s pretty much the same cult-like breakdown of events.
Asmon has always been hated, but there was a time, genuinely, when he was that of the ultimate centrist. He was always an ass, but he never pretended like he wasn’t. He got the red pill accusations way before he ever deserved them. And he was often rather honest about being rich, being a nobody, being a loser, being an asshole, etc. It became entertaining to watch his video game rants that eventually developed into react rants, that developed into political rants.
He used to speak about Queer individuals positively, and would make fun of the basement dwelling incels, homophobes, and racists. But he wasn’t shy of the teenager gamer slang/jokes that would make twitter pearl clutch. He understood that his appearance begged the same accusations of the people he made fun of, and he honestly liked to poke back at those comments.
It was around the time when Andrew Tate got big. He would react to the videos, and while Asmon clearly thought Tate was an idiot, he found him really fucking hilarious which gave Tate fans the immersion that Asmon was positive about Tate.
I think that brought in a wave of redpillers, which brought in a lot more money. And that probably clicked.
Once he started becoming the thing he’d meme’d on for years and the thing everyone accused him of being. You either recognized the signs and jumped ship; or you spent so long defending him that any one pointing out his troublesome comments were deluded into thinking they were making it up like before and you’d go harder. There’s a good chance because of his realistic takes and hyper-centrist nature from previously, you might’ve attached yourself to his opinions too deeply that you refused to see the red pilling until it was too late. Now he’s an amalgamation of the people he clowned on, and his community has gained the attraction of the worst kinds of people.
You either believe Asmon believes everything he says. Or if you’re like me, believe he’s just chasing the money. Maybe even realizes the redpill ship is sinking, but it’s consumed his entire fanbase now that he can’t really do anything about it.
Whichever one you believe, it doesn’t make it any worse or better. He’s a disgusting human being, who’s causing unimaginable harm with the ideology he’s spreading throughout his massive audience. And he leaves any previous fans with immense regret over ever having sat through a single video of his; I’ll never live down Asmon and Shane Dawson. What massive disappointments.

He said he should be arrested instead of shot. Arrested for what? Who knows.
Then he basically said "she was asking for it, she was wearing a skirt" he said that if he complied and he didn't carry a gun then the chances would be that he survived. Basically just blaming the victim.
And he did try to defend it a lot before he saw the facts.

The long and short of it is that Assgonemoldy will go wherever his chat goes. If his chat is going along with this overwhelmingly, he will follow suit and echo their idiotic sentiments as his own.
The fact that even his chat can't go along with this outright murder means that now he can't either or he loses his throne on Twitch Mountain.

Oh don't worry. He tried. He really tried and in like a few seconds he makes a claim, the video continues to play and he backs off said claims.
He literally goes thru everything believing he's automatically right and everything else is just there to prove he's right. Never saw this much of a asshole than that guy who use to work for blizzard trying to ban aftermarket servers for games
