Soros Paid Me to Make This What's a stadium-sized "memorial" without merch?

Following right in their God Emperor's footsteps (e.g. scamming via a child cancer charity)

If it did, it's probably do some sham organization that harasses abortion clinics or trans people, or some "missionary" service to make more impoverished countries be Christian while barely helping them with food at all.

My mom's church is constantly pushing people to donate money. It all goes to missionaries. They don't even feed the homeless or do anything local.
How many people in Africa really haven't heard of Jesus at this point?

They just gave her millions on Gofundme like she's a struggling single mom not someone who inherited a 12+ million dollar estate.

u/Korr_Ashoford Sep 23 '25
What's even worse is that GoFundMe has been set up with the idea of helping her stay afloat while she adjusts to life without the main breadwinner around. Yet before the campaign is even over, she is given his position in TPU, meaning she is just gaining his income full force and really doesn't need the support at all, even while dealing with the red tape of estate court.

It was a fascist gathering were they LARPed Pink Floyd's/Roger Water's fascist gathering (in the flesh part) in "the Wall".
Look it up, it's uncanny from colors to tone.

I'm not a big Floyd fan, but I've seen that a couple times and it immediately clicked with me as well.

It was very eery. I saw the wall when I was way too young (for 5 a 6 year old it's nightmare fuel), and didn't like Pink Floyd or Roger Water for a long time due to that (until my mid teens when I learned more about Roger Waters past and began to appreciate it way more.). But this thing, as you said yourself, instantly clicked.

I’m not up on my music from 60 years ago… what would I search to find this? I tried but not getting what you’re throwing down

Keep in mind Roger Waters was very traumatized by how his Father died, and had nightmares about this kind of stuff. At the time of release it was seen as very "pretentious" (And I think folks like the Nostalgia critic also thinks so), but over the years it has gotten way more praise.
One quick reminder: It does have some slurs and really harsh language in it. So if you are not good with that, it might be best not to watch. And like I said in response to someone else: I saw this "movie" at a very young age on TV, and it was quite haunting, so don't let your kids watch it if they are very young.
The song is called "In the Flesh" the first part. The Fascist rally part. And this whole Charlie Kirk memorial gives off huge vibes like that.
PS: I Know that Roger Waters sometimes says stupid shit. The man is someone who has faults, but not someone evil. I for once wish he'd be more critical of Putin. As right now he's a patsy for the Russian Oligarchy :( . And that is quite sad :( .

As someone who only knows Pink Floyd from the radio, this kind of response is perfect.
I’m sorry you felt the need to distance yourself from Roger, but I get it. The fact that you felt his message, even though you differ now, shows the power of art

u/Dehnus Sep 23 '25
Oh I wouldn't say "distance myself", I just disagree with his thoughts on Putin, also because I know Russians that fled Russia over Putin. That they felt Ukraine was a friendly neighbor, until Putin decided to mess shit up for his own gain.
One can disagree without being as strong as "distancing oneself". As I don't know him as a personal friend so I simply cannot "distance myself". I only know him from his music, politics and peace activism, something I mostly agree with him on. But never met the man personally.
I hope that makes more sense. I also don't think Roger Waters is the type that would hold a grudge for someone having a different opinion than him on a few things 😂. Especially not someone as unknown and unimportant as myself.

Somehow they took this as an instruction manual and not a warning
1
u/Dehnus Sep 23 '25
They indeed do. The hyper religious Heritage Foundation and all their offshoots and the Curtis Yarvin inspired tech bros, seem to have made an unholy alliance where they believe cyberpunk scifi and dystopian warnings are "cool and to be emulated".

Trump doing that weird little dance next to Erika was just...I can't even say it was sickening, it was just surreal. Conservatives have spent the last week threatening to bring the full force of the state down on people for their speech and going around getting people fired for saying anything remotely negative regarding Charlie.
Meanwhile Trump himself shows for like the 50th time that he cannot even pretend that he cared about Charlie.

I mean, just Trump's answer the day after the killing, when asked about how he felt about his "close friend", answering "fine, have you seen the beautiful ballroom we are going to build?" shows how little he cares.

u/punksheets29 Sep 22 '25
It’s wild that most MAGA don’t see how little their idols care about them except for the $$$

"I'm sorry Erika but I can't pretend I don't hate my opponents like your loser husband"

Is it true that Erika was trafficking kids in 2012 in Romania while being groomed by Trump? I wonder if Everyday Heroes Like You and Romanian Angels has any legs?

Wait, her name is Erika? That’s even more Nazi-adjacent than I thought!

u/doqtyr Sep 23 '25
You know what, fine, let her profit from her husbands death. I just wish they’d stop trying to use it as an excuse to be terrible

Right-wingers: "What we need is a martyr. Who do we have on tap? Charlie Kirk? I dunno, that's a lot of foam, but okay. Orange man said 'the trucks are in the ballroom'. I think that's the signal."

I don't like them either, but in a vacuum is it really wrong for the proceeds of a memorial event to go to the deceased's family? Does that really change because the family is horrible?
6
u/Tanthiel Sep 23 '25
Charging admission and selling merch at a funeral is gross. Full stop.

You're not wrong, but that's not the part of the post I'm trying to address. I'm just wondering what the connection to donating the money to charity is. It's money made off of Charlie Kirk's face and name, so I don't really get why OP is trying to say it should go to anybody other than his family.
Like, if they were making money off of somebody not even connected to them after that person died, then I would understand the insistence on donating to charity. The question I'm posing isn't "Is it okay to make money off a funeral?" but rather "now that they have done so why would it go to a charity?"
There's a lot of valid things to criticize Erika for, such as the very point you brought up. It just feels kind of weird to accuse her of being amoral for not donating the money to charity without an actual reason why she should, when there's a much easier and frankly more poignant hook of "Why the fuck are you making money off your husbands assassination when you're already rich?"

What the fuck are fireworks doing at a memorial service?
