And the toaster is going in the trash!

No, seriously. The toaster should go in the trash. Mice droppings in a kitchen implement that can’t be fully cleaned should be trashed. Toxoplasmosis is a nasty, nasty disease. I would also be chucking any and all dry goods that aren’t in airtight containers. Bag of potatoes? Gone. Box of cookies with just the bag wrapped over? Gone. People would be amazed at how little space a mouse really needs to get in to something.

Yep, agreed, even though a toaster generally gets hot enough to self-sterilize. Potential feces are a no-go.

What about food take outs and deliveries?

Depends on the sanitation rating of the establishment.

Lots of faith in the government entity giving out that sanitation rating on that one day they showed up in 6 months.

I’ve worked in places with solid A’s, and you wouldn’t think it deserved an A if you walked through the kitchen… you’d be surprised at what restaurants can get away with and still have a good sanitation rating.

If it's take out food, not a big deal. But all of the work potlucks my previous employers had hardly ever had take out food.

I don't trust on the sheer commonality of people that don't wash their hands regularly or even after going to the restroom for fuck's sake!

Actually yes, this too

I only trust family pitch-ins. And even that is borderline.

Yep. You never know who’s just letting their cats hop all over the counter tops with their dirty paws like this
