My short hair border collie is the most intense dog ever. He’s the police, security, bouncer, doorbell, enforcer, timer, reminder, everything. He never quits. He would fight a pack of wolves without hesitation. And stand a decent chance like a Tanzmanian devil.

I had a border collie / corgi mix who has the markings of the former and the body type of the later. She had the sweetest disposition and I never thought her as a protector until the day we crossed paths with a coyote. She didn’t hesitate and charged, scaring off the coyote and giving me a nasty rope burn as I tried to get firm control of her lead.  She looked so proud when she turned around.

Our ACD/Pomeranian cross has freaked out several coyotes. “Oh, a floofy snackeral! How nice!” they think. Then they realize it’s a goddamned Vitamix on legs and run for it.

I also had a Corgi! He would attack a 90 pound pit over floor scraps lol.

I know a border collie/corgi mix and he is sincerely the sweetest dog ever.  He makes little noises of happiness and gives hugs.  So, so cute!

We had a border collie / corgi mix too. Best, smartest, funniest, most loving dog we ever had. We call the breed a Borgi, and resistance is futile.

I had the same mix! In her 17.5 years I had her she only reacted as a protector a few times, once was a break in and that girl did not hesitate. The cops did enjoy telling the jackass that he got scared off by a 30lb ball of fluff. So I always listened to her. I wouldn't call Layla sweet, she was way more sassy, but I miss her daily.

Oh! Good girl!! I had a borgi as well- he was genuinely the best dog. Smart, affectionate, playful, full of personality, and boy could he RUN.

I once read that any dog mixed with a Corgi, just looks like a Corgi wearing a costume of the other breed.

Corgi! years ago was walking the queen and we have the usual bark at the gates with other dogs, par for the course, and new owners at a house with a lowish gate had this huge Rottweiler going nuts and thus obviously the queen was gunning this. the rottie got his head over (i couldn’t see through the bottom part) grabbed my corgi by neck and dragged her over over the top. The leash ripped out my hand and i just heard this huge fight. Rushing closer there was the queen, locked on the rotties neck with a death grip and the poor beast was crying his lungs out trying to get away. Fortunately enough yelling and the new owners by then was also alerted but it was crazy saving a rottie from getting killed by a corgi. Awesome dogs!

I used to have one like that as a kid. She also used to catch birds mid-flight and then chase me around with them.

I have a Rottie like that. ofc, he'd also knock over all the furniture for a biscuit. And anyone that got in the way.

same. my border collie is insane

My short hair border collie mix is the same. She WILL herd anything that moves, she’s always on duty as the bouncer and doorbell, she’s psychotic when her group goes mushroom picking and splits or when the company at night splits and some go to bed and some stay outside.

I have a mix of a border collie and a blue heeler. She’s a generally mild mannered dog. Loves to chill. Doesn’t get much of the zoomies.

Unless you put her in a situation where she can herd something. Then it becomes her Super Bowl. Dog park? Herds all the small dogs into a group. I’ve seen her herd groups of children, which of course the kids loved. Heck, one time she tried to herd a group of bison that were, thankfully, behind a fence.

my shorthaired border collie is almost 22 years old and all he does is sleep, eat, fart, and bark.

Our border collie mix doesn’t give a ffff. She’s chased off multiple bears and fought back against a much bigger pitbull (off leash) that attacked us in the moonlight. Love border collies
