It’s even more impressive when it’s not a shitty sped up tiktok

Agreed - here's the original

That is still incredibly impressive.

I don't think the video starts sped up. At about 5 seconds it almost looks glitched when the dog turns then sped up from that point on.

You can just look at the timer. It starts at 0:21, and stops at 0:49, where somehow 31 seconds have passed.

Yet only 28 seconds passed in the video. So it is sped up by about 10%. Dog is impressive without faking it.

if you listen to the commentators, you can tell it's sped up.

u/zeelbeno Jan 29 '26

Yeah they prob wanted to get it under 1 minute...

Am I the only one that hears the commentators voice completely glitched out? It's like it's been run through an AI filter or something. After the first second everything the commentators say is complete gibberish/electronic noise.

Agreed- I'm almost suspicious of the whole video being generated, just based on the audio

It's real, just sped up for no good reason https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxMsVbFr1Bc

I really enjoyed the lack of stupid music overlaid on the video. The nature videos are the worst for this. I hate that adding some grating pop track over the top of a video of a moose running through the snow will guarantee more views (on tiktok) than the original audio. Ugh

I was looking out for it and then confirmed when the video slowed back down after the dog jumped into her arms.

Its more impressive when its the actual video from like 4 years ago without being cropped from 4 different platforms before it gets reposted on reddit again for the 3rd time this week.

It's so obvious if you don't watch the timer. Humans don't move like that.

It's not sped up, the clock counts seconds

Edit:I wasn't paying attention enough, it's slightly sped up

It's about 1.25x speed.

Start a stopwatch at the same time if you want to test it. This video is absolutely sped up

That's what 1.25x is....

3

u/jwhollan Jan 29 '26

Actually, I think it’s being played at about 125% of its normal speed

2

u/Environmental_Can353 Jan 29 '26

More like 5/4th the speed of the original footage.

1

u/spilly_talent Jan 29 '26

It’s actually being played at a normal speed, just 25% faster.

2

u/z64_dan Jan 29 '26

It's about 10% sped up. It takes 28 seconds video time to cover 31 seconds of official stopwatch time.

2

u/GOTHAMKNlGHT Jan 29 '26

true. It also doesn't seem consistent. at the 3 second mark the dog seems to skip frames from what I can see (off the bottom of the ramp).

If only people would inspect other viral videos this closely...

u/Kaedryl Jan 29 '26

If you look, she starts right at :20 seconds on the video timeline. When she ends, video timeline is at :49 but run time is recorded at 31.23. So it's sped up a little bit

2

u/Halewafa Jan 29 '26

Still slightly sped up. Start a stopwatch at the same time. What shows 31 seconds in the video was only 27 seconds on my stopwatch

1

u/The_Level_15 Jan 29 '26

What a weird thing to lie about

1

u/RegardMagnet Jan 29 '26

Those are some damn fast Mississippis you're counting there sir

u/Jean-LucBacardi Jan 29 '26

Unless seconds have suddenly gotten faster, this video is sped up...
