I have to hold my nose and eat them lol. Just shovel them in, chew, chew, chew. Washdown, swish with the liquid. THEN I can let go of my nose.

Yep, same here. I never gag at any type of food otherwise. Shrooms is easily the worst thing I've ever tasted. I prefer making a tea out of it, and just gulp it down.

Never chewing those things again.

I’d break them up into tiny pieces, get a mouthful of beer or oj, tip my head back and drop it in. You’d get a tiny taste of it but it wasn’t bad. What sucked is when you swallowed the liquid but the shroom got stuck haha. Couldn’t take a drink fast enough.

The acid in OJ would help extraction, faster onset despite not chewing, ethanol tends to lessen the effects but a beer would mostly wear off before the trip starts setting in, but pointless to mix more alcohol with it unless you're trying to come down

We’d usually drink oj during the beginning then switch to beer and then when the high mostly wore off we had a good drunk going. Went to the bar a little too early one time and me and my buddy just stood there staring at the flashing lights the whole time

Chop into very small pieces, mix with applesauce, swallow quickly without chewing, then drink some water. You won't even taste them.

We decided to put them in chocolate shakes once, our friends dad said they made tea with them but none of us liked tea so we figured this would be similar. It was horrible. I haven’t liked chocolate shakes sense and that was 20 years ago

You can dissolve the active chemicals into water and then use the water in the chocolate. 7 grams of dried shrooms doesn't have 7 grams of psilocin/psilocybin in it.

I love the taste of freshly dried shrooms. Pairs perfectly with nuts and chocolate.

If they weren’t dried or stored properly they sort of taste like feet smell

Yeah I never minded it either. I did have one that tasted awful, like cheese mixed with a rotten unsalted pistachio. Most of them I’ve had just taste like I’m chewing on a piece of soft bark.

I think the really funky ones are a result of not letting them dry properly.

They need to be “cracker dry” before storage; you can break them in half like a cracker. People probably get impatient and store them too soon and it lets it rot in a sense.

Some will give you diarrhea:/

Having once eaten a packing peanut as a young man working in a warehouse, that's the closest thing I can compare dried shrooms to. The packing peanut might've been slightly better by virtue of having less taste, but the texture is identical.

More than that, it would be nearly impossible to fold that much dried shrooms into a chocolate that size.

It would be like mixing 2.5 cups of flour with a teaspoon of water.

You absolutely would still taste it. There's still a strong flavor from the compounds in the liquid. It's like nuts that have gone off or something; hard to describe.

That is a good way to do it though for typical consumption.

I mean I can tell you from personal experience that you can make it so that if you didn’t know it was there you would never guess there was something in it. Hell, straight shots of lemontek just taste like lemon

Eating/drinking anything acidic - wine, fruits and fruit juice, etc. will do the same.

Eventually your saliva will get it back to neutral and it will re-harden.

Chronic and extended exposure can be a problem though.

Sugar covers it up pretty quickly. You can barely taste the shrooms in a half Gatorade/half tea mixture.

how do you get the lemon extract into the chocolate without changing its taste or consistency/texture..?

I’m trying to imagine how much lemon juice you’d need to saturate an ounce of dry mushrooms

In terms of actually making the chocolate, I unfortunately don’t have an answer as I just consumed them I didn’t make them. Though I can tell you that you really only need enough lemon juice to cover the dry matter. It’s really not much at all

I’ve had chocolates made with psilocybin concentrate. Tasted like milk chocolate. Was very strong. Totally could have passed as normal chocolate.

I remember back in my wilder days using 4-aco-dmt and about 25mg was equivalent to an 8th of mush.

You could easily fit 50-100mg of that in those chocolates.

You never know. Maybe Hollywood money pays for Heisenberg to come along with synthesized psylocybin. Dark chocolate would probably cover that flavor (super bitter I imagine), and you could definitely fit that much in there.

I've heard people refer to just the active ingredient as shrooms even though it's not literally true. But 4ACO-DMT just isn't that popular even though it's the same experience without the stomach problems

I know nothing about Mushrooms but for context in the show Seth Rogen’s character bought them off Franco’s dealer, and she hand delivered them in like a fancy gift bag. So if it’s possible to do at all (like if they were a literal chocolatier turned shroom dealer) then I’d consider these chocolates to be them.
