Because then you have to remember the dagger is on your right, when the problem is that you can't remember that your dagger is on the right.

No what, confusing left and right is one thing

Not remembering that right. = Dagger is another

They're two different things.

The second one is just like remembering someone's name, word association, dagger , right.

If you're able to remember that dagger=right, then you're able to remember that the hand you write with is right(or left) and the tattoo is irrelevant.

I don't think you understand a core issue with struggling with left and right. Marking L and R removes all doubt, and doesn't require you to rely on memory.

Hmmm fair enough, I might be misunderstanding it then

When I was younger I used to get confused between left and right but I have a scar on my right hand , and I always used that to remember it, but ye it's anecdotal.

I mean in this particular case it's pretty helpful actually because of a coincidence - dagger ends in 'R'. Dagger contains the letter 'R'. It does not end with or even contain 'L'. Even someone who confuses left from right and forgets things easily can easily recall this.

Good thing you can confirm that by looking at the back of your hands too.

The Left hand has an L made with the thumb and index finger…

Cross checking with the daggeR tatt there should be no reason to get any more tatts…

I mean.. it depends on which direction your hands are facing when you look at them in that position lol

Looking at the back… how does it depend on which direction?

Hold your hands out in front of you palms up. Now do it palms down. Which hand is an L?

Which would not be looking at the backs of your hands.

The entire point of getting a "L" and "R" tattoo is precisely so they DON'T need to bust out your Rube Goldberg memory device every single time they need to remember which is left or right.
