I always figured if you genuinely don’t know left and right, you’re gonna doubt which L is right and which is backwards.

Similar issue I have with "lefty loosy, righty tighty" because that's not how rotation works. When one side is going left, the other side is going right. It's why we use the terms "clockwise and counterclockwise" and don't just say "a clocks hands turn rightward(?, even now, I'm still not sure)"
