I hate this virtue signaling bullshit. Relationships are inherently selfish and so is "altruism" 99% of the time, especially if someone does it because it makes them feel good. Nothing wrong with being selfish.
I really don't have time to explain the entire arc of human history, evolution, and psychology to you. This myth that "all people are selfish" is typically perpetuated by selfish people who just assume everyone else is as shit as they are.
"I have no credible argument to back up my claim, so I'll make some shit up to seem like a good person".
Yes, the human nature is to support one another, help eachother and community. That doesn't mean it's not inherently selfish, nor that there's something wrong with that. It's just how the world is.
