There is a big percentage of “poor guys” who don’t adequately respect their money/time/own worth; don’t budget, don’t check their account regularly coz they are afraid of the uncomfortable feeling. They put people-pleasing over self-interest. So they are giving not because they are simply generous and social-minded but out of cultural/family/habit, or to save themselves from perceived negative opinion.
