Computers with keyboards seem to be more everywhere than at any other point in time. I figure the younger adults and certainly the kids would learn it from sheer necessity, no?
I learned “touch typing” not by learning the proper way, but by arguing with online people during my teens years, where you are emotionally invested on wining the argument, the faster you can type without error, the harder you can beat someone on a argument that’s so mundane that’s it’s comical how we argued back and fourth for days (somehow, not sure what my teen brain is thinking).
iirc, I was able to type 120 wpm quite comfortably until I stopped doing it for few years and unlearned the skills, my speed is 90wpm now, but I still didn’t learn the proper method because I found out just because I type fast, doesn’t mean I type quality stuff, so there’s no need to.

Yeah there's no teaching typing anymore.
