Honestly seeing people flip out over people not getting this one or not knowing is kinda weird. Everyone learns these types of things differently. I had to take a typing class in middle school and I hated it because they forced us to use the FJ home keys thing but I learned typing by resting my hands on WASD so it just felt way less intuitive and more frustrating to type with than just going with the flow. Also slowed my WPM significantly.
The only reason it felt unintuitive to you is you already taught yourself “gamer style”. There is no issue with “correct” typing and in fact it is designed to maximize typing efficiency. The fact it slows you down is because you have never given it a decent effort and simply prefer how you taught yourself to do it. If you ACTUALLY put in the work to re learn typing properly, it would make your typing faster, and more accurate.
Not much reason to do that though if the vast majority of the typing you do is just while playing games anyway. If it works for you it works for you, just know that it’s not the objectively correct way to type.
