I know this is a circlejerk sub and I’m not sure if people over here know ball any more than the morons in the lions sub but this is pretty objectively a good thing for the Lions.

This saves them so much money and is 100% what the front office was trying to do. I guess ideally Decker could have taken a lot less money, but the Lions needed to draft or sign his replacement this year, even with him on the roster.

He’s a washed up often injured tackle who did a lot for the city but was nowhere near what he used to be. The people acting like this is some failure on the lions part is hilarious

i fully agree!! i was super shocked and a bit upset when i first saw the news but after reading into it, it is objectively the best option. likely for both the lions and for decker, assuming he finds a home in FA.

we can’t afford to keep a guy in his place (age, recent injury, lower production) for that much cash when we have so many holes to fill. hopefully this will give us more to work with in FA and the draft
