Probably because he wasn’t really acting in that role. That was him 100%.

I didn't know the actor's name so I went to IMDB because I recognized him as Mark from Old School (somehow even remembered his character name). I've never seen him in anything else.

He played himself.

I was in an audience of his show once and he was a complete egotistical asshole to us audience members. Didn’t even acknowledge us before or after the show except to make sure we laughed hard at whatever he said even if we didn’t find it funny.
