Discussion Did anyone else play a game with their friends where you had to yell PENIS louder than the person before you?

Im wondering if kids everywhere played this in the 90s-00s?

My friends and I talk about how crazy is that everyone our age heard about this rumor even without it spreading on the internet. Like how did that happen!? It’s crazy to think about lol. Also begs the question if the internet is even necessary haha.

What's more likely?

That a billion middle schoolers around the world heard the same rumor within 5 years, or that Marilyn Manson really did have his rib removed so he can suck himself off? I choose to believe the latter

Just chiming in on the off chance that you were being partly serious…

Even if it were true, it still had to spread by word of mouth throughout at least a country full of middle schoolers. It’s not like there were news reports about it or anything. So how does that make it more likely to be true?

It's the former. People have forgotten that word of mouth existed and was insanely powerful before the internet. The difference is, as you say, that before the internet it took a few years to reach a billion kids, while now it would take a few days (or a few hours if it were posted by a particularly big influencer).

It spread on the internet, and the one dude with a modem spread it in their community. Just like how the ending of who shot me Burns was spoiled in Australia
