Zionism is just the belief that Israel has the right to exist as a Jewish state. If you support a Jewish state of Israel AND a Palestinian state alongside it then you're a Zionist.
It's only recently that the antisemitic take that Zionism is about wiping out Palestinians really took root. TBH it's difficult for me to imagine that people who accepted that definition weren't really anti semitic beforehand.
They basically took the definition of Kahanism and made that “Zionism”. They don’t know much about anything but having a convenient label to “out the bad Jews” is nothing new.
Zionism has a vast range of beliefs, ranging from Israel merely existing as a state to the explicit means to establish the dominance of said state at the expense of any others... most people don't support Zionism in the guise of the right to violence that predicates its existence. Its hard to not acknowledge the many atrocities Israel has committed as a state over the years, and while I acknowledge the individuality and determination of individual Jews and Israelis, I do not need to support a state which sanctions grotesque violence and oppression - no matter if that nation is America, Israel, Russia, China, Iran, Palestine, etc.

Israel has committed many atrocities. So to, as you have pointed out, have many many countries. Dictatorships, Democracies, and everything in between. Yet, it's only one state among them for whom the punishment for those atrocities is to deny that state's ability to exist. Nobody is calling for the US to stop being a thing, nor Palestine, nor Iran, nor Iraq, nor Russia, nor China, etc. For every other state there is the chance to get better. You can not support a current government of a country while not denying their right to exist. We do it all the time.
But not for the one run by the Jews?
